also we've known since ep 4/alex's fireside chat that the story behind occtis getting murdered was alex pitched hollow one necromancer murdered by his family, brennan texted him back like "how do you feel about us getting to see that π" and alex was like yeah sure why not, i'll die on screen, i just don't wanna know when it's going to happen (and thus the ep 4 fight went that way)
but him rehashing that story on night cap also included the new detail of his original pitch for occtis being basically what he is now, but no one was there for him getting murdered, his family just did that, and now he's trying to hide it from everyone he cares about because he doesn't know what they'll do
and while i definitely prefer the way it did happen on screen, i am also very interested in that hypothetical narrative of occtis trying to keep this a secret from everyone
