It had been a long time coming, Beatrice thought.

The last time she'd been in this position, she'd been very stressed and emotionally wrought, but now, now everything was perfect. She and Benedict were getting married on their terms and nobody was bossing them around. Their acquaintances were now dear friends and the home they lived in would soon have the sounds of growing children laughing and running about.

Over time, Fleur made more and more time to speak to her creator, rather than the other occupants in the mansion.

Whilst flattered (and more than a little attracted to her) Nigel encouraged the robot to speak to the others. He needed her to learn to act on her own judgement and to not do things just to win his approval. As much as he liked her, he wanted her to have her own mind and her happiness to not just rely on him.

After feeling nervous at speaking to others, she made good on her promise and soon have blossoming friendships with both Romulus and Kirstie.

Despite his friend's teasing, Nigel was still a bit hesitant about activating his servo robot. He'd actually completed the prototype the day before but he was anxious - would his robot hate him? He didn't want the robot to automatically agree with him, he wanted her to have her own free will.

But, after much internal debate he finally entered the activation codes.

The robot jumped into his life and after asking him to input a name for her, he ran several names by her to see which ones she preferred. She didn't mind either of the suggestions so he settled on Fleur.

Fleur then spent the next hour assaulting Nigel with persistent questions about life, the world and who he was and where she was. Remaining calm, he patiently answered all of her questions and explained things as best he could.

Still a little apprehensive at her new surroundings, Fleur was still malfunctioning a little with her limbs. He encouraged her to walk around the mansion a little more but requested that she didn't leave the building as he didn't want her to get lost in the city.

Death stood over him, imposing and utterly terrifying.

He was silent for a long moment before he tilted his head to the side and discarded his scythe Benedict flinched, his heart still in his throat as the immortal offered him a chance to save Sophie.

Chose which hand I put her life in, was the eerie and silent question.

Benedict prided himself on being quite a logical sim and observant. But he knew he was shaking with fear of Sophie dying, and he chose the hand...

...that didn't have her life in it.

"NOOO!" he howled in despair.

I gave you a chance and you failed, came the taunt of Death. Deciding that he'd been here long enough, he turned and sent Sophie's soul to the spirit world, leaving her urn behind.
