(1/2) I saw someone say this about an actress on another CW series once and it REALLY reminded me of Eliza with Clarke - she's actually fine conveying emotions and doing the shaky-cry thing in scenes that directly affect her, when SHE is suffering or immediately impacted by a death of a loved one. But she never looks genuinely empathetic to other people when they're upset, even when it's BECAUSE of her. And that just makes Clarke seem incredibly self-centered, even when the show keeps telling us
(2/2) she's a hero who bears everyone's burdens. I never FEEL that she's bearing anything or understanding other people's pain. She just acts sad that people are mad at her. And some of that's on the writing -- I hate how defensive she is in early S6 -- but even in scenes where she's supposed to be more open and comforting Raven for example... it's just not there.
I sat on this for a little while because I wasn’t sure what to say. IMO Eliza’s performance is inconsistent when it’s about Clarke and consistently mediocre to bad when she’s supposed to have empathy. It worked better when the character was younger and inexperienced, but as the character has gotten older and the actors around her have gotten stronger the problem is more obvious.

Lol it reminds me of the John Mulaney bit about making a Happy Birthday sign. This is why I write in pencil first
That...probably would have been a better idea huh 🙃
Memori marriage proposal. Emori being loyal to spacekru. Memori I-love-yous. Emori is TRENDING ON TWITTER IN THE US. And they made it out of the episode alive. When it rains it pours.
This is fucking nuts...Like, holy fuck! Holy fuck! Holy fuck! I can’t even begin to express how I’m feeling right now!

Hi, you can call me out by name any time you want, you don’t have to go on 20 rants about an entire ship fandom ‘cause you don’t like a caption I put on a gif set
@nicoleanell
1) I’ve read multiple different posts describe her as ‘sassy’. I don’t know if they’re all by you, I don’t keep that close of track of what I read while browsing a tag. I can change it to badass or awesome if you’d like, it doesn’t change the fact that Emori stans excuse her abusive behavior.
2) I tag correctly. I tag it both antimemori and antiemori. The only time I put just Emori or Memori is after the first five tags, so it doesn’t show up in the actual tag but I can have a tagging system.
3) I haven’t gone on 20 rants, I’ve posted a few things here and there about my annoyance with Emori, her stans, and the Memori ship. But, again, they were all tagged correctly. I’ll stop tagging it with John Murphy if it makes that much of a difference, but me using that tag in a post about him and defending him doesn’t mean I’m mistagging.
4) I’m sure you’re a bigger blog than me. I’m sure you get a lot of notes. I’m sure you get a lot of responses and replies. Good for you! But I don’t go on rants about a single caption, I vent in correctly tagged posts when I continually see things that make me mad. None of my posts are a direct attack to anyone. I’m sorry if you were so offended and felt so personally attacked by a single sentence post that you felt the need to respond, but that wasn’t my intention.
