My part of the Art trade with ever so lovely @nicobloo who wanted the every so lovely Trubshaw! I hope you like it Nic!
@nicobloo, I'm about to watch Zootopia and the cinema I'm at is promoting a stop motion show called TumbleLeaf. They have is a Behind The Scenes look and everything. Unfortunately it's on Amazon only. Still, it looks like it's for kids, but I kind of don't care. If I could, I would watch it for the animation and attention to detail. With this, The Little Prince, and Kubo, is 2016 just the Year of Stop Motion?
Some of the awesome Little Prince merch I found at Hot Topic. I wanted to show it to @nicobloo cause he loves the movie so much. There were a few more things but this was all the really cool stuff.
The Boxtrolls Squad
Boxtrolls Squad chapter 2 "When you meet someone, you must look them in the eye, and shake hands." This quote of Winifred's was the first thing @lightening816 thought when she saw that they were altogether, just before @sharkbitegal and @themarquisofdorks noticed. Marisa noticed a second after, and she smiled. When Beck saw him, just as she had, he was, to be frank, delighted. Lucy had recalled the first time she'd ever met Marisa. A year and a half beforehand, they'd met each other in California and they literally shook each other's hands in each other's faces. She figured that Marisa must have thought of the same quote, because @nicobloo was attacked with shaking hands…and by shaking hands, they were, in fact, open palms waving in his face. Not that he was bothered by it. He played along. "What are you doing?” He asked faux surprised, and in Winnie’s tone. “Put those down. Like this,” he continued, holding out his hand. Marisa, Beck, and Lucy held out a hand each. He lightly slapped them all away. “Ow!” they all said. “The other one,” he resumed. Having only two hands, he took Marisa and Beck’s hand in one, and Lucy’s in his other. “And then you say ‘it’s a pleasure to meet you’.” “It’s a pleasure to meet you,” they all replied. “And you say that even if you’re not pleased to meet them,” Nico concluded. There was silence for about five seconds. Nico’s face contorted into a grin that looked ready to burst into laughter. And everyone else’s followed. The people passing by gave odd looks as the four friends laughed long and hard and held each other tightly. “AAAAAA, HOW ARE YOU?!” Nico cried. “I’M EVEN BETTER NOW THAT WE’RE ALL HERE!” Lucy replied. “WATCH OUT! WE’RE GONNA FALL OVER IF WE KEEP HUGGING LIKE THIS!” Beck exclaimed. “WHO CARES?” Marisa returned. Gatwick Airport’s walls rang with their loud voices, but soon enough, they looked at each other and around them, and chose to stay quiet. “Sorry,” Marisa mouthed. They all broke off from their hug. When the Baggage Claim caught the corner of Nico’s eye, he walked towards it to claim his bags. … "So, Beck, how’s Psychonauts 3 going?” Nico asked. "Oh, man, it’s great. I just got word that it’ll premiere a year from now. No specific date yet, but next August, a year from now.” “What’s it going to be about?” Marisa asked. “Sorry, no spoilers here.” The Boxtrolls Squad had all piled into a rental car and had departed from Gatwick Airport, going south on London Road. The four of them had considered the possibility that Cheesebridge would've been south of London, so they settled for Crawley, England, a southern suburb of it. They would still be close by all the sights, and the airport for when they had to take their regretful leave. Lucy remained silent at the wheel as she constantly reminded herself that it was necessary for her to be on her left side of the road. This was Europe after all. She smiled at the conversations her friends were having. As much as she preferred the quiet when concentrating on the road, she chose not to say anything, especially when she saw London Road turn into High Street "You sure we’re on the right route?” Beck asked, leaning his head towards the front seats. Marisa had been sitting in the passenger’s seat, while Nico and Beck sat in the back. Nico had pressed his face against his window to take in everything he could see. The old looking buildings, street signs, and British flags made them all feel like they were in a completely different world, but that was what they’d hoped for. Some things looked familiar however; overcast skies, people wearing jeans and long sleeved shirts to combat the cold breeze, and the rustling of trees and green plants. Lucy took notice of when London Road turned onto High Street. "Yep, pretty sure,” Lucy replied. “Once we cross into High Street, we should be at our hotel shortly.” "Our ‘haunted’ hotel, you mean?” Marisa asked giddily. “You love pointing that out, don’t you?” asked Beck, giving her a you-know-what-I’m-talking-about kind of look. “Of course, I do! It’s haunted! Stories of ghosts, locked cupboard doors open-with the lock still on!-people disappearing! And it’s close by everything we want to look at, so at least we’re not wasting gas.” "'So, Nico, what’d you and your friends do in England?' Oh, not much, la mère, just got lost inside a cupboard,” Nico replied. Lucy gave him a high five. Beck laughed and Marisa showed an unamused look. … Nico and Beck looked rather shocked and surprised at the sight of such a small looking hotel. Marisa grinned at her brilliant choice of the Ramada Crawley Gatwick Hotel, haunted lodgings according to research, just to add to the real experience of getting to know England. Lucy remained silent as she opened the trunk of the car. “Hey, guys,” she said. “Oh, right!” Beck called. They took all of your luggage out of the rental and hurried into the hotel. Beck felt a little foolish for judging the sight of the hotel from the outside. Regardless of size, he inside looked quite elegant with little table and chairs arranged like a lounge to one side and the Front Desk at the other. Nico was too excited to have any similar feelings. Lucy, Nico, and Beck looked around while Marisa checked in at the desk. … Their reservation had been for one room with 2 double beds. It proved to be a little less expensive than 4 single rooms or 2 doubled rooms. In the group, the gender count turned out equa, 2 guys, 2 gals. So Marisa and Lucy shared one bed and Nico and Beck shared another. But that wasn’t the first thing on their minds when they first entered the room. “Window! Called it!” Marisa hurried. “Aww…” Nico muttered, but didn’t press the matter. Lucy placed her items on the side closest to the lamp. As the guys did the same, they all looked around. The two queen beds were parallel to an in-table with a large cupboard underneath, and topped by a television. In between the two beds were bedtables of their own with alarm clocks. Next to Marisa would be a tall and wide window with a heavy curtain. As typical in hotel rooms, Beck and Nico’s bed was next to a complete bathroom, which stood across from the closet. Beck curiously looked inside a mini refrigerator and found a few water bottles. Nico had quickly unpacked and turned on the television, in the hopes of finding interesting to watch. It was mostly news channels, after far-too-serious television drama, after cartoons with animation he found a too distasteful. “Yech…” he said turned off the TV. While Beck, Marisa, and Lucy unpacked, Nico pulled out his drawing journal and began scribbling. And the more he drew, the more he realized something. Most of his drawings were of very particular objects that made him blush: cupboards and plates of food. ... After Lucy, Marisa, Nico, and Beck had gone to dinner inside a Chinese restaurant at the hotel, which all four of them found very fascinating, if not ironic. But it wasn’t long afterwards when they returned to the room and Nico pulled out his laptop, inserted his Boxtrolls DVD, and then there was silence. All eyes were on the film they loved so much, the only source of sound in the entire room for the next hour and a half. “Boxtrolls Monsters have stolen a child!” “Very well, every Boxtroll gone. With proof!” “I can’t stand the thought of them gnawing off their toes and stringing them together as a necklace.” “Why do we do this, Shoe? Carry on like everything is normal? They drag us away and we do nothing.” Smiles were all around as the Boxtrolls Squad watched their hero, Eggs try to rescue his father figure, the one with the fish on his box…Fish. Every now and then, they would look at each other and watch either the smiles or legitimate frowns depending on what scene they watched. All of them seemed very whimsical as Eggs’ good friend, Winnie, danced with each other. It was so sweet how they loved watching them and the surrounding figures dance…most of them anyway. Lucy’s smile turned down and her fingers clutched at her shirt in a shot she truly didn’t like right before the dance; one of the villain closing in. “And I’m not gonna let that be ruined by some little Boxtroll sewer rat!” “I don’t want to see you again. Do you hear me? Leave my house. Now.” “That Boxtroll was mad!” As the shadows and the ugly reds took over, the squad members found themselves getting closer and closer to each other. Eggs was in a basement, dangling from a cage. It had always been a hard scene to watch. Beck played with his middle finger every time the villain appeared on screen. Marisa looked as if she was looking and listening intently, as a great discovery was made. Nico hugged a jar of jelly close to him and gave the scene a harsh look. Lucy nibbled on her fingernails, and her heartbeat quickened. “Hey, Boss, your monsters are all loaded.” “All…but…one.” They loved it, yet didn’t. But just when everything seemed at its worst… “JELLY!” “JELLY!” they all cried. Nico was the loudest. “No more hiding! Right?” “Right!!” they cried again. This time, Beck was the loudest. “…You make you…” But the villain wouldn’t listen, and there was silence for a few more seconds, until inevitably, the villain would go away, as they often do. “And now, we go like this…” “Ah, I’ve missed so much.” “I love happy endings,” Marisa whimpered. … Lucy hoped she wouldn’t kick Marisa as she slept. The room was so dark, and it felt overwhelming. Hey eyes traveled, but she had to get to sleep somehow. Her friends looked so cute as they slept. She tried to keep her eyes closed, and it proved successful. All was quiet for a long time. The alarm clocks were the liveliest things in the room, until Lucy began to turn. Even in sleep, she could hear something. She could see something as well, though it wasn't what she thought it would be. “Child…” Her appreciation for The Boxtrolls wasn’t without its side effects. “Do you want to end up like the Trubshaw Baby?” I’ve got to wake up. I’ve got to wake up. She didn’t see him exactly, but she did see something. A green light that grew brighter and brighter distracted herself as she begged her own mind to wake up. She could feel her eyes open, but the light was still prevalent. "Beck...Nico...Mari..." Lucy hurried to sit up and leaned forward towards the green light. "...sa..." It was coming from the cupboard. “GUYS!!!!!!!!!!”

A Follow Up to my Last Post
Hey to those of you who read last night's post, it's officially 10:54AM PST on Christmas Day and I feel so much better now! No bad dreams, no worries, nothing but peace, and I feel ready to take on the world. It's thanks to good friends like @sharkbitegal and @nicobloo! Nothing's going to bother me today!
Okay @nicobloo, I've sent you your Christmas presents and your Anast-Eggs-ia present that you're sharing with Marisa. Now it's time for your birthday present. Shortly after the defeat and the sealing away of the Other Mother, Coraline and Wybie discover a new, but still very bizarre thing in the forests surrounding their homes: a little Boxtroll. This Boxtroll, Dolls, is a shy little creature who loves dressing itself up in the clothes and ribbons it finds inside doll and toy boxes. Coraline and Wybie take an immediate liking to it, but when the former and her real mother are greeted by a stranger at the door asking about "boxed creatures", Coraline makes it her top priority to protect Dolls from this off putting man. And the bitten jelly sandwich is just because of your love for who do you think? Happy Birthday, Nico!
nicobloo, sharkbitegal, themarquisofdorks, and me, in response to the Boxtrolls dream Nico had earlier this week. "You ever seen someone's foot be evil, Mr. Beck?" "I believe the Boss meant 'evil is nearby', Miss Marissa." "MISS LUCY, AQUIRE THEM!" "Acquire...acquire! HAHAHA! ACQUIRE! COME BACK AND LET ME HIT YOU!!!" In all seriousness though, it was weird drawing Nico like Archibald Snatcher, because he's nothing like Snatcher. He's not this obsessive monster who'd hurt kids and gives me bad dreams every so often (I'm not afraid to admit that). He's friendly, smart and loves Boxtrolls! It was fun drawing this whole thing! I originally had straight hair (because in real life, I prefer straight hair on me)but then I decided to give me wavy hair to better match Mr. Gristle's personality. That, and I gave Marissa straight hair, because I've noticed it in her videos. I hope Beck likes the bow tie, bowler hat, and gloves. :) This was fun! There needs to be more Boxtrolls dreams so that there can be more fun drawings to make. A very special guy in my life and I went to go see the Boxtrolls for the first time last October and we couldn't stop talking about it! I've been talking to him about my Snatcher nightmares, and he asks me to dream about him so that he can protect me (this is where I'd blush and seal my gratitude with a kiss because I'm nuts about him and he knows it). But I digress... Boxtrolls dreams need to be funny and filled with lightbulb smashing and quoting our favorite lines. I hope and pray for happier dreams.
