<<<<SWIPE to go in-depth on a recent logo & branding project for UK-based record company @sloeflowerrecords. This one was done in parallel with a similar project for their sister/brother company @sloeflowerstudio. Great folks and some killer music/sounds - definitely worth a follow and some business if you're in the UK. . COLOR Retro 70's design, especially vinyl covers, textile patterns and interior design, were a big inspiration for this project and reflected here with the color palette. These colors would be equally at home on a folk vinyl cover from 1976 or on a pillow in a wood-paneled sunken living room. Either way, this warm and welcoming palette worked out great for SFR's brand. . MOOD James @ SFR came in to this project with a pretty well-defined mood board (some samples seen here) which always helps any branding/logo project. You can definitely see a straight line from inspiration to the final design we settled on. Sometimes it works like this - the mood board directly translates to the final design, sometimes these reference images serve as a guide for things to avoid when pushing into new areas. Either way, if you're thinking about starting a branding project with me (or anyone else) it's always great to come in with a mood board if you can. Of course, this is always something we can develop together. . TYPE Like any logo project, a lot of time was spent early on digging through my current font library and exploring a lot of new options to base this logo on - all inspired by the direction set by the mood board. After narrowing the list down, Taurian (by Moonbandit) was the font we settled on and I really like how it worked out. .
