I've found so many excuses for why I won't sing for people. One of them was that I don't play guitar well enough to accompany myself. Well screw that negative voice. I realize now that in the past I was wrapped in my own insecurity. My focus was on how I would be received by others. Would I be criticized for this or that mistake? Will people like it and want more? Now what I see is that it isn't really about me. It's about sharing a gift. I love to sing. That I know. God gave me a voice to use, and I want to use it in a positive way. If someone hates it, ok.
