It’s a little surreal to be back, and even more so when nothing’s changed. The same cracks in the road. The same cars parked on the side of the road. The same everything, but with a little more decay. Home and a place far away.
Especially now that she’s been gone for long. In truth, she didn’t mean for it to go on as long as it did. But the time slipped away, and all she can do now is hope for the best.
For now, the reckoning will have to wait. The sun is starting to set, leaving the beach is cold but still beautiful, and she’s got some nerves to shake.
