Been wanting to get this paint scheme I have I mind for the Ultra Pup onto paper for a while but haven't had much of a chance to do so, but I'm using an Aeronca for the base cause I just felt like sketching one. :'3
Not too sure about the stripe layouts tho, was thinking "D-day stripe" style but maybe horizontal might work better.
Also of course going for a retro PSA livery but purples cause I also really want to make it a lavender like purple. She will get her smile inked in after these watercolor pencils get smoothed.
Been itching to combine the 70s PSA airlines :) livery with the ace pride flag for a paint scheme I have in mind for the little ultralight plane I'm (trying to) restore. But I slapped it on this Aeronca I had already sketched previously
I hope her friendly appearance will be a gentle and welcoming "hello" to those below who are ace and/or queer like me and also look up to the infinitely beautiful skies whenever a plane goes overhead. :3

Wow. So what a day.
Back on Monday when I got out of school, one of the museum volunteers asked me of I would like to help him with something across the airport and also see something incredibly neat- which turned out to be a retired, but airworthy MiG 23.
Today he invited me over to the hangar again to watch em fire it up- only not only did they do that, but we chased the jet across the entire airport, interrupting a little carshow full of car guys showing off their loud ricers + a T-34 fly-in to run this ground shakingly loud beast at full throttle!!
I'll post that later with 9000 volume warnings cause that thing was powerful

Hey y'all, so some pilot friends are trying to help make aviation a little bit more inclusive for everyone who wishes to pursue a pilot's license and/or potentially any FAA certification.
Currently the only options under the gender label on a pilot's license is limited to just M/F but these aviators are trying to rally up some support to allow for an "X" to be put in the section, or even better take off the gender maker on the card all together! After all, gender doesn't mean anything to an airplane,but it sure has been used to discriminate and put others in potential danger. All that matters in the sky is safety and pilot's skills.
They don't have a ton of support yet, most of their reach currently is between Facebook and Ticktock rn, but if the FAA sees enough support, surprisingly it is possible to get the FAA to make some changes.
For many aviators that little plastic card represents a part of them. It's a little thing that'd mean the world to these aviators who've worked incredibly hard to complete their licenses.
Jumped on a trend cause I felt like it :]
Spent the whole year playing with planes, mostly museum and my A&P school's planes + my ultralight project. Didn't get to fly em much, but that'll change very soon when I get my airframe license in hand. I'm not quite where I want to be yet (which tbh is just flying for a living), but I'm a lot closer to this 1 dream I can't live without (I've tried) and I can't recall a time I've ever been happier. I only wish I had the chance to start this journey sooner, but I needed to heal & recover some in addition to getting on my feet a little before I could go back to school. But I've made it this far & I'm maybe a month or less from my airframe license. :3
lowkey sad I'll be missing the annual big gay aviator party this weekend
