Upon being called, Watt flinched. 

"Huh? That sounds familiar…" 

Watt looked around… void

"I’m positive that someone just called my name….." he spoke to himself.

Silence.

"Pretty sure it wasn’t my mind acting up…." 

The silence is slowly killing Watt

Kraatz can only hope that the noticeable lack of people just means that they've been evacuated, that those who aren't are just boarded up in their houses, safe and secure. The only citizens he saw so far were mangled corpses, though--thankfully?--he didn't recognize any of them.

So far the only living beings that kept him company through this journey in the walking district have been the monsters. He has to admit that he was unsettled the first time one of the distorted creatures appeared out of the fog, shrieking with the only intention to kill him; however, he easily found out that he's far stronger than them. Perhaps they are harder to kill with normal weapons, but his new blood ability makes it easy; all he has to do is create an incision, one big enough for his blood to touch theirs, to destroy the monsters inside out.

It's almost funny. If he had seen these on a screen, Kraatz would've probably cried. But seeing them in the flesh, with life as real as a horror movie, hardly disturbs him.

Thus his path through the working district is trailed with blood and monster corpses. No citizen has interacted with him yet.

I hope everyone's alright, he thinks, narrowing his eyes as he hears faint, inhumane shrieks ahead. He clenches his fists, holding his arms up and out as he walks forward through the dense fog.

It blinked

First Watt didn’t realize that it did blink, he thought it was only his imagination, and that he’s going crazy. But this time, this isn’t a joke.

It blinked again

Watt excitement rushes through his veins, covering him with energy once again. He flipped the phone, and there it is:

"How’s your day, Watt? ／人◕ ‿‿ ◕人＼"

Alive, someone is still alive.

Watt’s eyes shine, it is from… Paper?

"How are you? Are you okay? Not that bad actually ha ha" Watt replied in a flash.

He sighed happily, someone is alive

"Strangely, the Rich District got too foggy. Colder, too. That's why I -cough- left," Aldrich said. "I wanted for it to clear up. But then here we are at your District, foggy as well. Wie ärgerlich."

"Y-yeah..." Ravenna replied. "And I think I drank contaminated water... My stomach feels...urgh..." She was sitting on a bench in the Working District with her benefactor. She wore a sullen, sick face. "...Feels funny..."

"How -cough- unfortunate. Since when?"

"Just now." Ravenna coughed as well. She felt like throwing up.

"Get -cough- some medicine," Aldrich said, handing her some money.

"But I'm the sick one here! So rude..."

"You are rude. I gave you money. How about -cough- I get it back?"

The fog started to get thicker. Ravenna shook her head and clutched the money in her hands tightly. She stood up.

"Okay, I will go now. Thanks, anyways."

At the distance, public announcements were being recited in a megaphone. Something about contaminated water, fog that spreads sickness...Ravenna and Aldrich paused abruptly to listen for more. Apparently, gas masks were being distributed.

"Ah, well. We're in quite a danger here," Aldrich said, standing up, but as he did so, a rumbling sound was heard from behind the bench. He squinted and looked behind. Ravenna did so, too. All of a sudden, a strange-looking abomination sprang from the thick fog. It was not animal-like - it was...they couldn't even explain.

It charged toward them, but they quickly evaded it.

"Ravenna! Run!"

Aldrich pulled his pocket-watch from his coat, opening it. He stared at the monster and slowed it down, while their current time was still the same. They had the time to run away.
