finding out the NFL lockout was over!! with a few weeks to spare before preseason!

Wiz Khalifa recently won Best New Artist at the 2011 BET Awards. Now I’m a big Wiz Khalifa fan but he’s not a “new” artist. He’s had multiple mixtapes and albums before “Rolling Papers.” Doesn’t “Best New Artist” require that you be somewhat “new,” not just finally have an album hit it big? If you go on iTunes, you’ll find albums like “Flight School” (which I highly recommend) and “Deal or No Deal,” which had the song “This Plane,” which was a pretty popular song. My point is Wiz had no business being in that category, let alone winning it, cause he’s been around for a while. At least he won it instead of Bruno Mars or Willow Smith (who probably just got nominated cause of her parents, same reason she even has a song), but I think J. Cole (whose three mixtapes “The Come Up,” “The Warm Up,” and “Friday Night Lights” I highly recommend getting) and Miguel (whose song “All I Want Is You” featuring J. Cole is a good single and apparently has a good album to go with it, even though I haven’t heard it) have a serious gripe here. “Best New Artist” should only be won by somebody who hit it big with their rookie album or took the music scene by storm and are in the process of making one (i.e. Drake or Nicki Minaj). So while I love Wiz and his work, he shouldn’t of gotten this award, because he’s been around so long. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve one, it just shouldn’t have been this one. Taylor Gang or Die.

I heard somewhere that Oprah wanted to get O.J. to confess to her on her new television show. First off, didn’t she retire? So I guess it wasn’t so much “retiring” as it was “leaving.” Secondly, does she really think O.J. is going to confess to her on cable television? The man really has no reason to confess. He’s already in prison for a long time anyway, so if he did do it, he got what was coming to him. Oprah seriously needs to sit back, relax, and let her shitty new TV station bring her in even more money.

Figures another New York politician got caught in a sex scandal. But, I mean, with a name like “Wiener,” is anyone really surprised? The one advantage he has is that there’s already a game plan in place for him. He already took care of the first three, which were denying it, admitting it and issuing a public apology, and resigning office. Now all he has to do is lay low for a while and then resurface on a cable new show with some random woman where he can offer his “unique” perspective on issues.

Enough already.
