For the fic request thing.
What about Hotshot trying to convince Asteroth to do matching Halloween costumes with them, Nik and Oscar?
[Halloween Trick or Treat]
This one is gonna be fun for me actually. I think that Asteroth wouldn’t be against the idea of a group costume perse however I do think he would be picky about what he goes as.
The Fantastic Four falls under the no fucking way category.
“But come on!” Hotshot would plead with him. He knew the other two put them up to it, probably some decision that if anyone was going to convince him it’d be them. They should know better.
“It’s be really fun!! And, Halloween is on a Friday this year, which means…”
Asteroth raised an eyebrow. “That I’ll be working?”
“No! That it’s a true hallo-weekend! We get to go party Friday night!”
Hotshot groaned, flopping themselves dramatically onto the table between the two of them.
“What do I gotta do to get you to do this?”
“There’s nothing you can do.”
Hotshot propped their head up, pouting and watery eyes in full force. Asteroth groans, hands coming up to rub at his face for a moment.
“Who would even be who?” He asks finally. Hotshot perked up so fast that he had to clarify, “not because I want to. Just as a hypothetical.”
“I’m so glad you asked,” they gushed. “Oscar is The Invisible Man—you know, since he’s a guy and not a woman—“
“Surprised he’s not into cross dressing.”
“—and Nik is The Human Torch, obviously. He didn’t see it at first, but it’s fine, I debate things so well. I’m, obviously, Mr. Fantastic. Which leaves you, my beloved, as—“
“Ben Grimm?” Asteroth said, incredulously, “seriously?”
Hotshot gawked at him. “What’s wrong with Ben?! He’s like literally the best!!”
“How am I anything like Ben Grimm?”
“Well you’re both handsome—“
“—you’re both misunderstood in fundamental ways, and people really don’t give you a chance—“
“And you both are scary on first impression.”
“No, but that’s all I’m giving you.”
Asteroth looked at them for a long moment. Hotshot just gave that infuriatingly adorable grin back. The grin that he’s seen a thousand times. The one that says ‘I’ve already won, I just need you to admit it.’
“You’re not gonna leave me alone until I say yes, are you?”
“Nope,” Hotshot said, popping the ‘p’ just a bit. “Just admit you’d think it’d be fun, handsome.”
“It’s not gonna be fun, it’ll be torture,” Asteroth said. “But, fine.”
“Only because I know you won’t leave me alone.”
Hotshot pumped their fist in victory before frantically typing on their phone.
“What are you doing?” Asteroth asked.
“Locking it in,” Hotshot said. “Once Oscar and Nik know you’re down, you’re trapped. You can lie to me, but you cannot lie to the three of us.”
“It’s a necessary step, crucial even,” Hotshot said, nodding like this was a grave ordeal.
Asteroth was going to regret this.
Or, maybe he won’t. He’ll have to wait and see.
