New Year, New Love
Halfway down the slope, I wiped out. I hated falling. It was embarrassing, especially with everyone's eyes on me. It wasn’t my first time on the hills, but going from skiing to snowboarding was a challenge.
My cousin sped by me. “That was bad.”
“Piss off.” I wanted to give up, but I’d made a resolution to get better than her.
Some guy stopped next to me, holding out his hand. “Alright?”
My cheeks heated. “Fine.”
“You learning?”
“Trying.”
“Maybe I can help.”
I laughed. “We’d be out here until midnight.”
“Fine by me.”
Huh. Maybe falling wasn’t so bad.
