Surprisingly, it hadn’t taken all that much convincing. That is to say he hadn’t been happy, but Javert’s devotion to logic hadn’t left him much room to deny; British uniform or not, if anyone heard him speak, their secret was good as gone.

And so, Thera was alone as she walked down the street toward the market, a collection of stores, carts and awnings defiantly plugging on despite the war almost literally ‘next door’. She had struck a deal with their hosts back at the inn, in the acknowledgement that they were struggling too; if they would take care of cooking side, she would do the providing.

IN theory, lucia understood what they wanted from her. after having been attacked by a masked man who had taken her notes with him for a reason still unknown to her, the police needed a proper examination of the wounds received in the attack. as a medical assistant herself, yes, in theory lucia understood that.

in real life, however, they were sending the third doctor in after she had refused to even let herself get touched by the first two ones, nonetheless the countless nurses. it was obvious everyone was losing their patience with her even after chalking it up to shock, and lucia realised she had to get out, soon. she literally was afraid they’d soon forcefully take off her clothes and then everything she had worked for in the last years would go down the drain, nonetheless she probably would end up in a mental asylum. no, she couldn’t do that. either the next doctor would be understanding and let her leave, or she’d have to sneak her way out of there.
