You thought you met the man of your dreams, he was everything that you ever wanted, but what happens when that dream falls apart, and what happens when that man is no longer the one you recognise, but you want to love him against all odds because you believe things can be better.

ā” ā what inspired you to write this fic?
So this fic is part of a more extensive series called āThe story of Us,ā I love song fics because I feel like they help a lot to set the mood, and you can give your take on the song. Now on to āAll Too Well,ā this is one of my most favourite songs from Taylor Swift, and the 10-minute version is perfect. It perfectly fits my relationship with my ex. It was a relationship that ended badly, and I felt like I never got closure, but writing this fic was beyond cathartic because I felt like I could finally breathe because of the things I could never say to him. I could finally say in a fic, and even if I never got that closure, I got it for my character, and I lived vicariously through that. Writing that story was beyond healing to me.
ā” ā how long does it usually take you to write a fic?
Oh god, this depends. Sometimes I can write something as long as All Too Well (21k), which may take a couple of weeks. I pulled an all-nighter to finish it. I think it depends when itās a purely original story. I can take between 5 months to a year to write it, as I go through pretty bad episodes of writerās block. However, when the fics like All Too Well are based on my real-life experiences, itās a lot easier to write, slightly painful reliving everything, but it was easier to write this.
ā” ā what was your favorite scene to write and why?
I think the ending scene, because like I said, I got to give my character closure, closure I never got. I can honestly say this too. When I wrote the last sentence, I felt like I could breathe. I felt like I was able to close a chapter of my life that was like an open wound, and when I finished writing this fic, I was able to heal from that wound, and itāll heal over time.
ā” ā what excites you about writing in general?
I love exploring ideas that sometimes I struggle to verbalise and explore new worlds, but every time I write, I discover something new about myself. I never thought Iād ever write fics, just because I am painfully lazy, but I like that I get excited about this whole new world that I can create, and Iām a visual writer, so when I write, I feel like I can see every scene unfold in front of me.
ā” ā what do you usually write first in a fic (from the beginning, major events you have in mind, dialogueā¦etc).
Oh god, I go straight to the document and start typing. Very rarely will I plan. I just go with the flow.
ā” ā did you listen to any music while writing this fic?
Yes, All Too Well, the 10-minute version was on repeat. I also have a playlist called Feels, which has my āgo-to crying songsā on it, which I have lovingly dubbed sad whore playlist.
ā” ā is there anything you find particularly difficult when it comes to writing?
Yeah, exploring specific ideas, like introducing a new thing or plot, will not explore it and struggle because I get lazy. Iāll fail to understand the importance of exploring specific themes or topics.
ā” ā what helps you to get out of writers block?
Nothing, honestly. Aside from taking time away from writing to recharge and coming back to it when I feel more ready, and in the meantime, I work on my fic recs to show love to all the fantastic content creators on this platform.
ā” ā what do you believe is your strengths as a writer?
I think maybe dialogue? I write a lot of my dialogue, and it is based on reality, so itās pretty genuine, but I also believe smut at times. Iām not sure what my strengths are precisely, but I guess I feel like I grow with each story I write, so thatās all I can ask for.
ā” ā what do you want people to specifically notice in this fic?
To see the pain, to see the hurt, and then to see that thereās growth. I want people to notice that I could find growth in my darkest times, and I hope that thatās something everyone can do to pull themselves out of their darkness.
