closed event pt. 2 starter for @netherblades!
Two dozen corpses lie at their feet in varying states of disassembly, and all finally lie still. Corvo slides the mask from his face, hooks it onto his belt, and wipes his forehead with the back of his hand—the clean one.
The hallways of the apartment complex run thick with the smell of rot and blood, so he moves to find fresh air. Corvo enters towards one of the apartments and through a door in the living room that opened out into a balcony. He pauses for a moment, relishing the fresh air (even if it carried the ever-present groans of the living dead), then turns back. As he enters, he glances to his new companion, who had been standing in the apartment.
“I think we should be okay for now. In any case, we’ll probably hear them coming.” Corvo glances at a bowl of fruit sitting in the middle of the dining table. “How are you doing?”
He hadn’t had the opportunity to so much as get the girl’s name, but they had handily carved a bit of peace for the two of them. Maybe now he could learn who exactly his mysterious ally was...
