Fact about Netaji Subhash chandra Bose- #NetajiSubhashChandra Bose was born on January 23, 1897 in Orissa, Bengal division, was among ninth member of a family of 14 members. #Netaji cleared the Indian Civil Service examination in 1920 in England but resigned from his job on April 23, 1921 after hearing about India's struggle for freedom. #Netaji had been a leader of the younger, radical, wing of the Indian National Congress in the late 1920s and 1930s, rising to become Congress President in 1938 and 1939. However, he was exiled from Congress leadership positions in 1939 following differences with Mahatma Gandhi and the Congress high command. Opposing Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violence ideology, Netaji believed that non-violence would never be sufficient to secure independence and advocated violent resistance. #Therefore, he decided to travel to Nazi Germany and Japan to seek support for India’s freedom. #In Germany, he met Austrian woman Emilie Schenkl and married her. Together they had a daughter, Anita Bose, who is a renowned German economist. #Later, Netaji with the help of Japan organised the Azad Hind Fauj or Indian National Army (INA). The Azad Hind Fauj was formed with Indian prisoners-of-war and plantation workers from British Malaya, Singapore and other parts of Southeast Asia, against the British forces. * Netaji also wrote a book titled ‘The Indian Struggle’ which was published in 1935. #He also established the Azad Hind Radio station in Germany. #Netaji believed that the Bhagvad Gita was a great source of inspiration for him. #Netaji also believed in Swami Vivekananda's teachings on universal brotherhood, his nationalist thoughts and his emphasis on social service. #Netaji died on August 18, 1945 after his overloaded Japanese plane crashed in Japanese-ruled Formosa (now Taiwan). #However, there are many controversies and mysteries about his death.
