ok so. i will admit really funny that The Girl seems to get her food mostly from Tommy Chow Mein. and yet nobody has seen her in years, somehow. Also considering the whole CatCamera was the motel and other places TCM set up just? not worth sending people to?

The Nest - its stupid. its so stupid theres like 100 people here, possibly only five Ultra Vs so like whos place is this. theres a giant robot right outside in the sand how did it take this long for BLI to find the place.

Also i counted it there were Volume (our only named black character) appears and dies in the span of 5 panels. wow.

RED&BLUE - the wasted potential.... you know for the offhand comment of these droids being made explicitly as some kind of after-work destress for scarecrows there was such a missed opportunity to show literally any others. Plus being described as a stimulant is interesting, unfortunately seeing as i have read all this before i am sadly aware of how much that doesnt really go anywhere. shame. couldve had something interesting there

I know ive said this many times but the blue/mike is so funny. hes ready to propose and shes like "are you about to ask to be my bf :/" i realise i did not catch it the first few times but the idea they arent even #official. deeply funny.

plus. on a more. national anthem is a fun concept idea. i think it is so much better suited to like, an actual TV show than a comic. but i understand we're held to our medium. but also if you know you're working in that medium why would you make it more well-suited to a different medium. sigh. - cherri

RIGHT!!! its what annoys me most is hiw the comic seems to keep promising to deliver something and then in fact delivers nothing. like i do think the first gave a pretty alright start. definitely the art helped and if i could read it all again w/ no memory of the other issues i would be interested in where the plot was going but it just. doesnt??? like i would say the aesthetics and style is doing a LOT of heavy lifting until you hit probably a little into #3 where theres just way too much being thrown about like haha! isnt this cool! and then swiftly moving on. and then by the midpoint of 3 and start of 4 the racism is just too much to ignore

it really does grab everything shiny off typical nerd media and then not think about it AT ALL!! this symbolising letting of nostalgia or whatever would also be ridiculous not just because of how poorly its done with its old timey shtick for Mom and Dad but it just??? entirely dismisses the AKA set up in issue #1 like right right right ok. those lines about everyone being traumatised and in maybe not great home situations actually does not matter.

you got a point about it really being better suited a concept or tv show but honestly im not even sure as a show it would manage anything. maybe audio would make the radio chatter/noise talk seem more coherent but its so all over the place i struggle to see how this is the Proper Vision of Killjoys. I'd argue it would've benefited from having some kind of additional material like how the california mvs had twitter accounts bc that could MAYBE salvage a little bit. probably wouldn't tho but ygwim.

this is the funniest thing cherri cola ever says in this comic. "none of us wanted to kill" theres entire twitter accounts and MVs that say otherwise....

Cherri Cola witch devotee time. shows us his memorial of his friends hes made out of all their belongings and then hits u w the "anything close to the person can be put in the mailbox for the witch to guide that soul" ok so have we considered putting ANY of your dead friends stuff in here bc that memorial is seeming a lot less friendly now.

Genuinely the decision to make cherri cola the "violence is bad.... forgiveness is the way...." guy is. such a choice.
