Nessa Kang

Female, She/her (they/them is also okay)

5'8 (chat I don't remember her height for age, okay?;-;)

Unlike in the regular AU, Nessa is quiet. It's not the kind of menacing quiet I imagine most might think of when referencing Masky or Hoodie from the original MH, but more so the quiet that's created when one is afraid. In this AU, Nessa came to The Divine under its influence hoping for the salvation, not that she didn't find one- she just didn't expect the one she found. If watched closely enough, she's more akin to a cornered animal than she is a human, the type that when pushed too far would rather fight then flight.

She doesn't like to admit that she's afraid, Nessa more so brushes it off as she's in her "adjustment period" (despite being present for a few years at that point), but she just can't shake the sense of immediate danger whenever she is in its presence.

she spends as much time as possible outside, more commonly in the streams where the fish are. The cold water feels almost real.

Lamb(Gatherer)

Unfortunately no key relationships, she looks up to many of the oracles such as Wren or Titus though, she'd rather keep her distance from everyone, she views her fear as faith or loyalty, the more she has, the more loyal she tends to be. Naturally she fears the divine the most.

Alette is a natural runner up, though Nessa is smart enough to know (and pull from her experience before the cult) that the fear for alette is less of a "ong she's a Messiah" and more "she seems cool but she's probably gonna call me a name". She hopes she can one day be Alette's friend

She's Close to Robbie..! Though she rarely sees him

Her backstory is the same is her original one, she didn't start hearing/experiencing the divine's call until after her her mother's death- though it was diagnosed by multiple doctors as Grief-induced psychosis. Her father attempted to help her, get her into treatments, though the only difference is in this AU she disappeared at night without a trace (instead of killing the nurse that was caring for her)

Robbie likes to think he's more "down to earth". Yeah, he's as devoted as the next guy you meet- but he's also still aware that everyone is still human. He tries to reach out to others and provide whatever support he can (Only the Divine knows how much he needed it after what happened). At the same time he has a harder time controlling words- or rather he speaks without thinking, often getting him in trouble.

He once told alette that she was having a good hair day because he thought she looked down (he later learned she was the Messiah and prayed he didn't accidentally insult her)

Lamb- Vegetable Farmer. He finds it somewhat easy work, he majored in Agriculture before joining the flock.

He's closest with Nessa, though still tries to keep his distance due to the constant fight or flight thing she's got going on. He likes to think that the others are cool with him too, though that's not exactly up to him.

As for the oracles and alette? The oracles are.. off-putting, the kind actions of most places a bad feeling in his gut that he can't shake, though he appreciates the more genuine ones at the end of the day. As for Alette? At the very least the others had an option(or so he believes) but being born into this life and then crowned as the "Messiah"? He feels for her. It's not fair.

originally he had been from Australia- through decided to move to the states to attend college with his long distance girlfriend.

Everything had been going smoothly until the whispers started, like something almost beckoning him

One night he snapped, the hallucinations and whispering getting the better of him and he completely blacked out

He wasn't sure where he was after that, or how long he was out, or what was on his hands

He was taken in not too long after that by the flock

There was initially a resistance to joining (which almost landed him a spot as a sacrifice) though the divine's reveal of what had happened broke him and he soon became complacent

(He had killed his girlfriend and dumped her body in a river- (I just really don't wanna describe that or type it out---))
