Caroline looked up and noticed many shadowy figures on the balcony, seemingly corralling the partygoers in the room. But, there was one figure that stood out amongst the rest. He clearly wasn't hiding in the shadows. She could make out his devilishly good looks and that wicked grin. The man leaned slowly onto the railing, just as a flash of light danced across his face. For a brief moment, Caroline felt his eyes meet hers, but she couldn't be too sure. A shiver went down her spine at the thought. Her heart raced at the intensity of the confined place.

All For You: Shades Of Color

A brisk wind sweeps over the football field on a Monday morning, and it doesn't help that the rising sun barely peeks through the empty bleachers, casting wisps of light and warmth. Yet, Caroline still leads the Timberwolves cheer squad onto the damp and glistening field.

Her eyes focus on the bleachers ahead of her while biting her tongue from lashing out. All the complaints being cursed under the girls' breath are irritating her more today than ever. The clipboard in her hand crackles under her grip, on the verge of snapping like a toothpick.

Caroline's hair sways in the biting wind, but she remains indifferent as she looks over the planned routine. Shocking it might be for her teammates, she didn't want to be here either. She missed the days when she was the one doing the complaining.

Be the captain, they said, it will be fun, they said.

When the murmurs rise to a glaring clarity, she scrunches her nose, deciding to give up on planning the practice. Caroline drops her now cracked clipboard onto the grass before twirling around with her hands on her waist. "Oh, boo-hoo. Can't handle a little wind, girls?" she asks snidely.

Midnight Masquerade 

Just like the first time when his eyes met hers, they sparked an insufferable heat within her. Caroline couldn't deny the allure of darkness any longer. Her knees slightly buckled beneath her, but she kept her face void of any emotion.

At least she hoped it did.

The sinful smirk that grazed his lips told her he wouldn't be missing any movement as long as she was in front of him. His large hand twitches by his side, triggering thoughts of what he could touch with those. 

It was enough for her to give in. She widened her hold on the silk scarf and tossed it around the man in front of her. Pulling his body close to hers. 

Klaus's hand grasped her thigh, hooking behind her knee, and held her in place as she leaned in. "Careful, love," he warned her as his eyes didn't waiver away from hers, trying to read her intentions. 

She knew what she wanted and that if Caroline indulged herself now, she wouldn't be able to take it back. She was ready to accept her fate. He was what she wanted.

Caroline traced up his torso, over his arm, then wrapped her arm around his broad shoulders. Now it was her turn to smirk as she felt the shiver that rippled through his body. She leaned in closer, with their faces barely hovering, side by side.

"And what if I want to be reckless?" she whispered smoothly, her eyes fluttered close. The magnetic pull she felt had her body flushed even closer. "Will you be there to catch me?"

All For You: Awakening

Specks of luminous orbs dance and float around her like snowflakes descending from up above. She stretches up to see if she can grasp one in hopes of taking a closer look. Her long blonde hair twirls wildly behind her as she spins around with arms out wide, enthralled by the beauty of it all.

Whenever an orb is within reach, her hand attempts to close in on it, but every time she thinks she's close to possessing it in the palm of her hand, it slips between her fingers. Nevertheless, it didn't dampen her spirit nor serve to poison the tranquility given by the lights.

A prickling chill rolls down her spine, causing her to fall to her knees with her dress fanning out. A distant ringing could be heard, shattering her silent world.

"You are as capable as I am to wield the magic you ask of me. If you did not walk away from the gift you were born with, you would not need to seek my help," she berates.

The sisters stand staring at one another, with Esther's hope grappling against Dahlia's anger. It's hard to accept the truth in her sister's words, but Esther didn't want that part of her life. The tears slip past her weakened control. Every piece of her wishes to run and hide, but Esther still has those blue eyes in her mind.

All For You: Prologue

In the dead of night, she embarks into the sea of white, facing the howling wind, lashing and sinking its harshness into the bones. With every trying step, the unforgiving cold relentlessly clings onto her, constricting her movements. Prickling sensations set in her extremities, but she carries on, knowing nothing would compare to the agony she drowns into every waking moment.

A pair of warm blue eyes flash in her mind. Though behind them is a fog of sadness and heartache.

They watched the seasons come and go with fragile hope in their hearts, but nothing changed. The emptiness inside her fills with immeasurable pain instead of the love she has been longing for ever since. Remembering those blue eyes, she wills herself to continue fighting against this hellscape.

Esther Mikaelson seeks out the one person she knew who could aid her in her times of sorrow and desperation.

When I Met You

Echoing footsteps interrupts the stillness of his study; he pauses his writing as he awaits to gain back the silence. He already knew where this person is heading. His sights fall on his brother just as he leans on the doorframe. The demeanor seems to be calm, but he knows better.

"What can I do for you, Niklaus?"

He watches for any changes in his brother, trying to sense for turbulence, but he observes no indications of trouble. 

"Don't forget about tonight's party, brother. And..."

Hesitance on his brother's face causes him to stiffen with narrow eyes. There was something else about Niklaus that he couldn't figure out. "And...?"

"Caroline said to mention that you need to relax tonight. There will be a lot of people - women..." Niklaus shifts slightly in his position, arms crossing. "In Caroline's words - just be cool tonight."

A smirk finds its place on his lips as he discovers that this discussion brings discomfort to his younger brother. "I'm wounded that Miss Forbes thinks I'm not cool."

Niklaus pinches the bridge of his nose with a shake of his head. "I'm leaving before I end up murdering someone on my way out."

"You won't because I'm here."

Stuck With You Chapter 2

The campus parking lot was busier than usual as Whitmore students ran around, trying to leave campus. The trio hastily packed the gray SUV that Elena rented out on short notice, and the girls shared a heavy sigh of relief once they drove out of the increasing flood of vehicles and people.

Despite the impromptu moving out day, Caroline, Bonnie, and Elena made the most of it. They grabbed food before hitting the road, played songs that they sang out loudly and terribly, but in between, they just talked about everything and anything. Caroline loved every minute of it because these moments were rare and fleeting since entering the supernatural world. Watching Elena laugh easily and Bonnie complaining about college was the kind of thing she wanted with her best friends. The normalcy of the moment was serene and one that she will cherish forever.

As Elena drove past the 'Welcome to Mystic Falls' sign, Caroline felt her heart drop at the sight of it, realizing their time was ending. Elena lowered the music when she noticed the slight change in her blonde friend from the rear view mirror.

"What is wrong, Care?" Elena questioned as she glanced at Bonnie, who shrugged back.

Caroline leaned forward and relaxed her head on the side of the passenger seat. She remained still for a moment, and her friends patiently waited.

"Okay! I - I hate that I'm gonna have to share you two with other people now," she sighed, finally sharing her feelings with her friends. Her bottom lip stuck out a little at the sentiment. Elena giggled, which earned a glare from the frustrated blonde.

"I'm serious, Elena!" Her head moved away from Bonnie's seat to tilt her head back in annoyance.

"I know you are but come on, we've - "

Caroline lowered her eyes back to her doe-eyed friend and gave her the 'are you kidding me?' look.

"Don't give me that 'we'll still see each other' spiel because you two disappear whenever boys are involved," Caroline ranted, interrupting Elena. Bonnie and Elena shared a look, but it was Bonnie who spoke.

"Really? Coming from the girl who hasn't done it?" Bonnie arched her brow at her with pursed lips, then broke into a giggle.

"Fine, maybe I'm a little jealous you guys have people to go to when I don't," She brought her arm up, rested it on the middle console, and planted her chin in her hand. Caroline jutted her bottom lip out, earning a giggle from both her friends again. Bonnie moved her left arm and gently laid her hand on her blue-eyed friend's left side of her face. Caroline leaned her head on her shoulder in return.
