Log Post Alert . . . With Love ♥️☻♥️ ............. I am not sure if many know but I am a big believer in safe and equitable education across the board focusing on our most negatively impacted in the education system, from our black and brown youth to our LGBTQ youth. I have had the great opportunity to support this type of work at Dignity In Schools Campaign; fighting to end school pushout. A program of the National Economic & Social Rights Initiative (NESRI) which partners with community organizations to elevate their voices, strengthen their campaigns and effect change. Through collaborations, NESRI gives national impact to local actions by developing replicable and scalable models and spreading them across the country. . . . . . . . LINK TO DONATE . . . IN BIO . . . . . . . . Raising $ is a very uncommon practice for an organization to spend a lot of time and energy fundraising for other organizations. This is something that really makes NESRI very different and differentiates us, as a whole, from other national groups. NESRI does this because we believe deeply in partnership and understand that part of providing our capacity building is also using our social capital in our connections, networks, and opportunities to either facilitate or directly fundraise for our partners and the grassroots when possible. #EducationIsAHumanRight #EquityInSchools #NESRI #DSC #DignityInSchoolsCampaign #PeopleMobilizer #KitaPMusic
Saw Red Baraat last night at the 10 year birthday party of a great New York based social justice & human rights organization NESRI. They've worked on awesome stuff like universal healthcare that will be a reality in Vermont by 2017. Get it guys. I also ate too much of some of the best middle eastern food in NYC from Tanoreen. mmmm. .

Trailer for More Than A Roof: A Documentary about the United Nations Housing Mission to the United States
This is a trailer of a soon to be released documentary about the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Adequate Housing's first official fact finding mission to the United States in the Fall of 2009. This trailer was produced for an event entitled "The Housing Rights Situation in the US" which took place at the UN Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, on March 5, 2010. Earlier that same day the Special Rapporteur presented the UN Human Rights Council her report based on her mission to the United States.
The video is being produced by NESRI, the Campaign to Restore National Housing Rights and Housing is a Human Right. It was shot by volunteer videographers, audio recorders and photographers from around the United States and is being edited by a team of volunteer video editors based in New York City.
