My Vannero/Neronessa future HCs and how I can see them work (thankyou so much for my bestie @the-black-bulls help):

* One of my favorite points about the ship is their shared theme of loneliness, birds & cages, and the possibility of outliving most of the black bulls (Nero because of her curse and Vanessa because she is a witch), this is very important because for most of their lives they’ll bond over these themes!

* After using the forbidden spell Nero is cursed with a body that doesn’t age or grow or get sick, she isn’t immortal on the literal sense but her soul is sealed inside her body and she has no way to fix it, when the bulls learn about this they will try to help her like Gordon with his family or Nacht with his rituals... and Vanessa will take her to the Witch Queen.

* When they get to WQ she will tell Nero there’s nothing she can do about her body and soul and that she’s fated to live alone and see everyone she cares about die, of course Vanessa will get angry and proceed to prove the WQ wrong as she develops a new spell that works like the soulmate trope, she’ll lock her soul with Nero’s soul with a tight thread so that one of them can’t die without the other and even if it doesn't work and Vanessa dies in the future, she’ll still make sure to pull Nero with her or leave the thread that connects their souls so Nero can follow it when she is ready and reach the afterlives because Vanessa will never allow her family to be separated and be lonely 🥹

* At that time Nero was emotional and angry at Vanessa but like how her body was sealed her emotions were the same, Vanessa will hug her and tell her that it’s okay, both the witches and dwarves can live up to 500 years so she and Charmy will always be by her said, and she does all of this because she knows how hard it is to be alone.

* From that point Nero and Vanessa will grow closer with their locked souls not romantically but in a deeper way, spirtually like twins, and the soulmate spell will bend Vanessa's body to keep up with Nero so she will grow slowly

* they will live with the bulls laugh with the bulls become aunties to their friends’ children, and then one after the other they will outlive their friends it starts with Yami and then everyone else follows, they will get to live and love and have their own seperated lifes, but then by their 100 year mark only Nero, Vanessa, Charmy and Henry are left alive, but Henry will die soon after and leave the bulls home for the girls… for the next 400 years they will live a simple mundane life with Charmy often outside so it is mostly Nero and Vanessa, during this time Nero refuses to leave clover kingdom because she promised Lumiere to watch over it and is scared about the next step of her life, all this time Vanessa stays by her side and never takes off the lock linking her with Nero even when Nero many times begs her to let it go and spare herself from her lonely fate.

* Charmy will die eventually, but something else happens as Nero reaches 1000 years of the curse (500 waiting for Lumiere and another 500 after meeting the bulls)… her body starts growing on its own! It is a change that Charmy noticed shortly before her death, a subtle change but it’s a sign and Nero's curse is wearing off and with it her world turns all over around for the third time in her life!
