Alas, heâd been in a hurry, knowing that Dantewouldâve pulled his ass out of the bed regardless. He felt horrible, leavingyou alone wasnât what heâd planned for today and therefore he wanted to make upfor it. He was surprised to find you laying in bed still, curled up in the blankets,facing the wall. You werenât asleep, your muscles twitched as he closed thedoor and he gave a low sigh as he walked over. Nero hated the fact that hecouldnât spend time with you like he wanted to. It was harsh on both of you butyou still somehow managed to make things work. Today just wasnât a good day for the both of you. âHey there-â he mumbled as he sat down next to you, smiling as you immediatelyrolled over to rest your head on his chest. He ran his fingers through yourhair and wrapped his bringer around your smaller form, rubbing soothing circlesinto your skin, as best as he could. Leaning down he pressed a soft kiss toyour temple, figuring heâd just let you rest for a little while. âYou good? I know youâve had it rough these last few days.âYou nodded, sighing with exhaustion as you gazed at him. You knew it wasnât hisfault that he couldnât spend time with you but sometimes you wished his hugswould last a little longer, his kisses werenât as rushed and hurried as theywere now. Youâd missed spending time with him and due to everything that hadbeen going down lately, you just wished for some sort of comfort, some place torest. You listened to his heartbeat before looking back up at him, giving a softsigh. âIâm good. Just⌠restless. I missed you.â Your heart sank at the guilty look hesent your way and you appreciated the fact that he held you tighter, his lipspressing to your forehead once more. It wasnât his fault. It really wasnât. âI know⌠Things just donât wanna work out right now⌠I told Dante that I need aday off though-â You blinked up at him in surprise, cocking your head slightly.He gave a soft smile and ran his fingers through your hair once more. âCanât have you laying in bed all day, right? Kicked his ass today and he stillowes me for that mission I took 3 weeks ago. He can kiss my ass, tomorrowâsjust us.â Your eyes lit up almost immediately and you couldnât help but smile at him, theprospect of finally being able to spend time with him again just made youincredibly happy. âThere. Better. All smiles.â He chuckled before pulling you in for a sweet,gentle kiss. You couldnât be happier.
