when I started shipping it if I did: Oh god, uh, immediately? I went into AOS knowing about TOS so I assumed Kirk/Spock were… a thing. So yeah, during the opening credits.
my thoughts: “I like this ship! It’s exciting!”
What makes me happy about them: how they’re so different and yet perfect for each other.
What makes me sad about them: the fact that they’re somehow, in the year of our lord 2017, still not “cannon”.
things done in fanfic that annoys me: making Spock so uptight that he calls Jim “captain” even when asked/told to call him “Jim” when it’s shown pretty clearly he knows when it’s appropriate to call him Jim vs Captain when it’s official. (Also making Uhura a b***h just to give Spock a reason to run to Jim. Just… don’t.)
things I look for in fanfic: uhhh good writing? Plot? It depends.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Bones (either one of them) or Khan (Kirk, but this is 99% a crack ship)
My happily ever after for them: They get married on Vulcan and Uhura is best man and Bones is maid of honor and Keenser is the ring bearer and Chekov is the flower girl.
who is the big spoon/little spoon: They switch but if Kirk is “big spoon” he jetpacks.
what is their favorite non-sexual activity: chess!
