Hey there! I know you haven't been active on this blog for quite some time but just in case you see this, I started a Livia blog recently (tribunuslivia) and am kind of desperate for a Gaius. So if you ever fancy returning to the muse and would be willing to plot, please shoot me a message. :)
Soon my friend. Soon.
Ares, Helen & Midas?
Ares - Besides when a certain someone won’t take care of himself? “I am not particularly fond of those I find frequently slacking off when there are important duties to be done.”
Helen - “Not particularly. I am not, by nature, an impulsive individual. ”
Midas - “I used to wish for the fame and glory that my sister seemed to so easily obtain, but I found myself more lonely than ever in attempting to do so.”
[3.1 spoilers] Nero barges into the workshop without knocking, looking around frantically until he locates Cid. As his eyes rest on the engineer, he relaxes visibly. "You're... you're alright? I heard about riots and-- and the city in flames, and I feared..."
Startled by Nero’s entrance, Cid nearly drops the piece of magitek he’d been working on. He catches it just before it lands on the workspace table, letting out a soft sigh of relief.
Setting it down carefully on the table before him, he turns towards Nero with a slight smile on his face as he gives a small wave. “As you can see, I am both hale and whole. We’re lucky that our workshop building was not one of the targets.”
He pauses as he takes a moment to examine Nero. “It’s good to see you are doing well.”
abalone, dolomite & ruby!
abalone:what kind of situations compromise my muse emotionally
Other Garleans, and reminders of home. Yolanda is normally fairly happy, but she resents Garlemald for the harm they’ve done to Eorzea, and feels hurt by her father’s abandonment - well, he biological father’s. She has a deep fear that Garleans as a whole are bad, and as such, she is bad - so any reminder will cause her to begin panicking and crying. (Any in many cases, deny being of Garlemald).
dolomite:a sleep headcanon
Yolanda can sleep anywhere if she can make a bed of the spot. She can be fine using leaves, grass, flowers, plant material, skins, etcetera, shejust needs to trick her mind into thinking she’s in a bed. Weirdest sleeping place? In a tree.
ruby:a happiness headcanon
Pearl Chocolates and similar make Yolanda happy - rediculously so. It brings up a lot of positive memories, both in Eorzea and Garlemald, because she uses them as a treat. She’s usually happy as-is, because she tries to be positive for others and herself - but chocolate makes her that much more happy. She also thinks of Chocobos as happiness of two legs. Completely.

“ you are a tolerable drunk. ” ((context? what context? :D))
“No, I’m a flirtatious dunk. There’s a difference~”
✂ - a vivid memory
She remembered the fight against Ifrit well. She’d known pain before that, had known the smell of smoke and fire. But before him, she’d not known the sort of pain that came with facing a primal. She didn’t know how it felt to have your armor heat and the pain of needing to press on through it. She still bore the scars, the places where Fleurelle could not heal fast enough, the places where the skin was pale and a little shinier than unscarred skin. She remembered every stroke of her sword, every spell cast behind her and every shot taken at the monster.
They’d won. And it was forever seared into her mind.
Doing: Three habits that I have.
Habit #1: He tends to take in ‘strays’ and turns them into powerful assets.
People who were unwanted or were thought to never amount to anything somehow found a place in his Legion. Gaius was one of the few Legatus who cared about his men. To him, they weren’t disposable. Only those who valued death over joining him and his cause would be weeded out.
Habit #2: He works out and spars at least once every day.
He’s getting old, and knows he needs to maintain his physical strength as much as possible while he still has it. He has the tendency to workout in his Legatus gear as much as possible, to ensure he never feels encumbered by it.
Habit #3: He prefers to eat with his men.
Though his position sometimes makes this difficult to do so, he prefers to eat with his men rather than dine alone in his quarters or with nobility. He finds it an easy way to keep tabs on his troops.
Added bonus: It also nurtures loyalty within his Legion.
