I am pretty sure this is the first scene where a main character's love interest was on their own, and not related to their relationship. Think about it, have we ever seen this happen before, with Sue or Celery, or Zoe, or anyone but Holly? I am pretty sure this is the first time it has been purely just about them. I think that scene was really important for this reason. Holly was there to be Holly, not Gail's love interest. I think this is a huge! Unless of course I am forgetting a scene...
well there was this scene with Celery and Andy at the station, but it was about Oliver being abducted, so the main focus in that scene was on Celery being Oliverās love interest. But like you say. I canāt remember a āsupportingā character having a moment without his or her loved one in the picture no. I just really hope they keep Holly around. I think the fact that they were looking for a pathologist or lawyer (Lemme quote Noelleās tweet here for a second: āWe had the idea early on in S4 to pair Gail w a female pathologist or a lawyer or someone on the periphery of the police world.ā) already says a lot because that gives them plenty of opportunities to use Holly in other scenes as well. But then again, Sue was a ETF and we never got to see her working with the rookies.. Which was kind of a bummer. I really liked Sue. Can we have Sue back please? Why canāt she be one of Hollyās friends. She seems a whole lot nicer than that Lisa girl.Ā
So, I just realized something. Do you remember that picture that Aliyah put up ages ago when they first started filming season 5? The fuzzy black and white one of her and Charlotte, where Aliyah was kissing her cheek and Charlotte was pouting about it? Well I am pretty sure that is from when they were filming the haircut scene. Look at their outfits. Charlotte has that long sleeve black shirt on Gail wore and her hair looks a bit weird. Plus, looks like Aliyah is wearing Holly's cardigan.

So perfect, don't you think? I mean can we just talk about how Charlotte is trying to look really pissed off by Aliyah's return, while in reality she was looking forward to work with Aliyah again (If I remember correctly she said that in one of her interviews about season 4).
I think you are right. Itās probably the scene before the bathroom scene though, since Charlotte is still wearing the wig in the picture. And when Holly comes in the bathroom Gailās hair is already long gone.
