Shiro wasn’t into these type of crowds. It was too noisy, sticky, and generally alien to a college nerd like him. Unfortunately for Shiro, his friends were into the whole metal band scene.
Well, mostly Lance to be honest.
Nevertheless, a quiet night that was supposed to be spent with him getting some reading done on Astrophysics was ruined when he was dragged into this whole mess of a place.
“Come on, man!” Lance encouraged over the roar of the crowd. “You need to chill a little!” his friend grinned.
Shiro grimaced as the ringing in his ears grew louder at the voices echoing in the concert hall.
“I think this isn’t the best place to ‘chill’, Lance,” Shiro replied, eyeing the crowd around him with more than a little amount of weariness. Pidge snickered beside him and Hunk merely smiled sheepishly at the exchange, choosing not to comment.
“You know what I mean!” Lance laughed, reveling in the vibe the place was giving out. He really seemed like he was at home here. “Besides, the tickets were bought, we’re already inside, and we have the best possible view of the stage to boot! There is no turning back! I’m telling you, its all worth it. This band is killer!”
“I don’t feel reassured by that at all.” And really, all Shiro wanted to do was to curl in his bed and read like what he usually does on a Friday night like this.
“Trust me! This band is sick!” Lance gushed as he bumped his shoulder to Shiro’s. The giddy male pause for a while as a thought seemed to occur to him and he frowned a bit as he said, “Although you know, I kind of don’t like the look on the singer’s face but I gotta admit, he’s good.”
“The look on the singer’s face?” Shiro repeated dubiously as one of his eyebrows arched.
“I dunno, for some reason I just wanna... punch his face?” his friend puzzled on the thought with his fists raised as if he was ready to do so.
Shiro spluttered. “P-Punch–?”
Before he was able to finish his outburst, Shiro finally realized that the crowd had already fell silent. It was only then did he notice that the band had finally arrived on stage. The crowed seemed to be brimming with anticipation.
The band, Shiro remembered their name as Blade, consists of five members.
“That angry looking guy with a scar over there is Kolivan, he’s the one on the keyboard,” Lance explained regardless of the fact that Shiro didn’t ask about anything yet. Regardless, Shiro let him. Lance was enjoying himself and he was fine with that. “That other guy is Antok with the drums and then there’s Ulaz with the base. Over there is Thace with the electric guitar, man that dude is so cool!”
Shiro glanced at the last person Lance has yet to introduce. "What about him?”
Lance turned to look at the person on the front of the stage and frowned. “Oh that’s the singer I was talking about. He’s name is Keith,” he said with a glare. “Look at him. Does he even know that mullets went out of style like billions of years ago?”
"If I didn’t know any better, I’d think that Lance has a crush,” Pidge teased with a smug smirk on her face.
Hunk laughed as Lance squawked indignantly. Shiro shook his head at their antics and turned back to the center of the stage. For some reason, he can’t help but look at the singer curiously.
Compared to Keith’s band mates he was relatively smaller but at the same time, his presence on stage was still well known. With Shiro’s position, he could see a clear view of the singer’s features like his lean form, fair skin, and shaggy hair. He didn’t understand what Lance was talking about with the mullet, this Keith seemed to pull the hairstyle off just fine. In fact, he could even go far as to say that the singer was... pretty?
Wait. What?
“--first song tonight, we’ll be performing Knowledge or Death!”
Once Keith sang the first words of the song, Shiro knew he fell in love. Maybe that book on Astrophysics could wait a little bit longer.
Do you have a prompt for a Sheith/Klance/Kallura drabble or ficlet?
