He had sort of disappeared after their first encounter, having snuck out when she was gone long enough. He didn't want to just leave, as he had wanted to thank her properly, but he also didn't do well being around others... least of all in such a vulnerable position. If nothing else, he left her some money in the hopes of being an appropriate "Thank you".
