Not long ago, we presented you the Nomos Autobahn Collection featuring the new date Neomatik movement. Also, the other iconic NOMOS models Tangente, Ludwig, and Orion were recently upgraded with the entirely new calibre with a date function—a long-awaited update. Now, Orion is available in new colours. Such as olive gold: a subdued shade of green with a touch of fall’s golden warmth, all year round and an elegant midnight blue. Check the gallery at the end of the press release.
GLASHÜTTE / BERLIN, OCTOBER 2018. It was only in the spring that the NOMOS Glashütte factory gave its icons Tangente, Ludwig and Orion a completely new movement with date and date
so a much-noticed update. Now there is one of the three, Orion, in new colours – not only with a white silvered dial as before but also in elegant night blue and a muted green that rescues the residual summer tan of the wrist over the winter: olive gold.
The newly designed date of the extremely flat movement of the Neomatik Datum (calibre designation DUW 6101) is extremely comfortable and quick to put back and forth. The date display, especially and only drawn for this model, completes the timeless design. Conspicuously beautiful is the arched sapphire crystal top and bottom of all Orions, which makes the fine NOMOS clock invisible also to a robust. The dial and case are arched, the impulses follow the round of the wrist: Orion, 1992 as one of the first watches of the Glashütte brand drawn, is a successful model that ticking and ticking – rightly a watch classic.

So now the same in green and blue and automatically, larger, with a date. Orion was only hand-wound for a long time, because only a very flat piece of work can be found in the elegantly curved stainless steel case. Thanks to Neomatik date, the still super-flat Orion has now grown to 41 millimetres in diameter, counting for it time as days automatically; one wink is enough to raise her.
Clear that neither colour nor the new size of this manufactory clock could take their perhaps greatest virtue; whether night blue or olive gold, Orion remains understatedly elegant for every day of life, for every shirt and every arm in the sleeve.
Orion Neomatik 41 date night blue as Orion Neomatik 41 date olive gold supplement from October to the NOMOS series update and are then commercially available here: nomos-glashuette.com.
If you have any further requests, for example for more information or interviews, please contact us at any time.
The dial and case of Orion are curved, while the lugs are tailored to fit the wrist.
