fgo thought
So like Jules vern, the guy who Wrote 2000 leagues under the sea also wrote Journy to the center of the earth
so if captain Nemo is like, a guy that exsists does that mean the plesiosaurs and ichthysaurs from jttcote are like also a thing?
i mean just imagine Nemo casually bringing up finding some while exploring an underwater cave or something and Marry Anning is just like "hold up, WHAT"
did some math because bored and tf you mean the nautilus is only 60 ft long? (FGO)
The U-505 is 252 ft long, and the internal hull is 193 feet long, with 48-56 crew members
How tf is Nemo fitting 12-24 Marine!Nemos, plus an additional 4 specialized Nemos, plus himself in the Nautilus?
And the thing is that 60 foot measurement also includes the narwhal horn on the bow, so the internal hull space is probably closer to 50 feet, so there's even less space!
even if we consider that Nemo himself is like, 5 feet tall this is still bonkers.
I also have complaints about the design of the Nautilus itself because there's no dive planes and the propeller is situated beneath the ship instead of at the very stern like on almost every other foking submarine going back to the 19th century
The only thing I can compare the Nautilus to anymore is Argonaught II which had a boat shipped superstructure but even then it wasn't designed to ram things (it also had wheels)
Also, submarines don't ram stuff. you look up submarine rammings and it's almost all submarines being the ones getting rammed. even on surface ships naval rams are more just a short, cone shaped bow and not some giant narwhal horn
CSS Manassas, a civil war era ironclad ramming ship and the closest thing to the Nautilus in terms of pointy bow
tl;dr: Marvin has strong opinions on fantasy submarines
SUBMARINE KID IS NAMED NEMO??????? (FGO)
anyway found a nicer pic of the sub and I cannot for the life of me id this thing. the unicorn horn on the hull throws off the outline so much
British R class submarine as my best guess? based on the very squared off prow and conning tower shape
fuckable santa
i wanted an actual image i don't think i can conceptualise this on my own-
wait actually
