State of the Alura - May 2025
I’ve finally finished rewriting a particularly pernicious chapter of Sage. Sadly it is now 2 chapters and the book is almost long enough to be considered a full novel. How did I get into this mess? (Joking) The book is now back in the hands of my beta reader @luna-tiel for review of the new chapters.
I’m now turning my attention to remastering Alura. I tried to write the memories, but I found that they weren’t quite lining up with Micah’s arc, which definitively starts in Alura (unlike Light Spinner’s, which begins much earlier). It was embarrassing to admit this to myself since I already announced them, but sometimes your plans don’t always cooperate with how things actually shake out. I think the story as it stands is better without them, but if my opinion ever changes, I’ll finish writing them and publish them.
However, I will still be adding to Alura what is currently shaping up to be about 16 scenes that take place in the present day. Some scenes will also be heavily edited or possibly rewritten, but the original versions will still be available at the end of each novel on their respective platforms. ❤️ The remastered chapters will also all be published at the same time as well.
Finally, I’m working on doing some maintenance edits on Starwalker and Failsafe. Starwalker does not need any additional scenes as far as my estimation goes right now, and Failsafe is just about finished and ready to be published after I start and finish the graphic novel.
There’s a lot going on, and I’m excited to get into it! Please look at my pinned post if this post is showing up in the tags. I’m enjoying the process of reimagining and expanding the world of Etheria!
