About the Trickster's Queen cover, I always assumed it was Aly. I mean there are two different girls on the covers, but I always thought one was a young and immature Aly, and the second one is her more mature half. And that she had died her hair. I never thought they were anyone else...

While I always thought the girl on the cover of Trickster's Queen was Dove (maybe Sarai), I figured the photo was intentionally used with some sort of filter (like sepia/warm filter). Mind, that doesn't make it any less problematic because her skin tone appears much lighter than described, but you can tell there's a diff. between her and Aly's skin tone on the cover of Trickster's Choice (one I am almost certain is Aly). It also doesn't have full color and is filtered just like the one of Dove.

The woman on that cover is clearly a WOC though? I mean, she's not black, but the Copper Islanders were supposed to be Indonesian, and I can buy that. Obviously her skin's been lightened and that's a problem, but she's still clearly not white
Holly here - I'm in agreement with yellowis4happy and anon. That cover is definitely supposed to be Dove. It looks absolutely nothing like Aly (and the only time Aly dyes her hair is blue in the very beginning of TC) and is clearly a woman of color, even though her skin has been lightened.

One of my theories: In regards to the thrice locked box, I think it holding the iron box of Jax's that had the Moon's name in it (Or it is the box itself and time has twisted the details). But now it has Kvothe's name in it. And to keep himself from being used (much as the moon was) he renames himself.
