Dear Chris Neil, I don't think I could even begin to describe what you meant to me, to this team, to this city. Fifteen seasons and 1026 games and not once did you lose your spark. You played your game every time even though your game wasn't necessarily the same game everyone else was playing. You were our enforcer. Our spark of energy when we were running low. Always had your brothers backs. You'd get a twinkle in your eye and that dumbass grin and everybody knew what was about to go down. You had 2522 PIM but never once got suspended because you knew where the line was. You never backed down but you never crossed that line and that's something I always admired about you. You weren't a goal scorer or a point getter, your 112 goals and 250 pts will never get you in any record books but you, #25, were one of the hearts of this team from the day you stepped on that ice in a red jersey. You never stopped being the heart of this team. Your heart is what got you where you are and I hope that's something that never fades because you deserve the brightest future. I'm gonna miss you Neiler. Your retirement has been more than earned but its not the same without you. With love, Nikks
