Negative Creeps || The Stonems
Looking around the empty park, Effy reached into her pocket, taking out an old spliff. She shrugged, taking out her bic lighter and quickly lighting up. It was dark out then, the winter night sending a chill down her spine. Oddly enough, Effy was covered up. Long pants. A sweater. And, of course her leather boots. The girl slowly got up and started walking back to her flat. In truth, she was beyond excited to be having her small movie night with Tony. Words could not describe how much she had not only missed, but needed her older brother. Sometimes, she still felt as if he were her only true friend. Effy didn't trust anyone else but Tony. Even though he didn't visit her in hospital, Effy forgave him. If he didn't come back for her, something important must have been happening. With the spliff perched between her lips, she began wringing her hands. It was a habit she had been picking up again, almost as bad as her old nail biting ways. Her lips curled into a frown as she neared her house. Walking up the too familiar walkway, she walked in, ignoring her mother. Effy was surprised to even find Anthea in the house. She was normally out with different men. She heard her mother calling out her name to greet her and question her as to where she had been, but simply rolled her eyes, not wanting to be bothered.
The past couple of days had been difficult for Effy. Lost in her head, she made the decision to end things with Freddie for a bit, though no one knew about that yet. Effy also recently got a job at a strip club in London on the weekends. She went there by herself to make extra cash for drugs. She had stopped depending on anyone for anything, making it on her own. Though, she wasn't quite proud of her new employment, she simply didn't care. Not caring seemed to be the root of most problems in Effy's life. Indifference was key she convinced herself, yet being detached showed to put more strain on other people. Effy stopped her tain of thought, not wanting to dwell on all of her mates in Bristol. Reaching her room, she pulled out Friday The Thirteenth and went to Tony's room. Effy walked in without knocking, running up to Tony to hug hi. "You wanker. I've missed you so much. I'm glad you're okay. And, I know you don't want to hear it, but I'm sorry. I'm really fucking sorry. I could have stopped this." Tears of frustration welled in her eyes, and Effy hastily rubbed her eyes. Putting on a watery grin, she looked up at Tony, "So, movies then?"
