Thinking about! Ferengi having a tidal calendar.
I think they'd also have a solar calendar, but using the tides to measure the date and time might be a more natural conclusion for ancient ferengi to come to, given how, for humans at least, many early timekeeping methods involved the sun or sky.
Even though you can differentiate between day and night when it's overcast, in many cases it'd be difficult to do much else. Until technological advancements were made, Ferengi rarely saw the moon, sun, or stars because of how often it rains. Also in my mind, water features heavily in ferengi culture even beyond the Great River so this ties in with that.
I can imagine it being ridiculously complex due to how the tides change over the course of a month and year, and how a tidal day is a different length than a solar one (learned a new thing!)
And because tides are different in different locations there were probably sooo many tidal calendars before some grand nagus eventually standardized things
They auctioned off Brunt's cheeks and didn't even vacuum desiccate them first :/
I know out-of-universe they probably came up with the whole vacuum desiccation thing because "the ferengi sell their ashes" and "the ferengi sell taxidermied body parts" seemed too gruesome or not scifi enough and it's supposed to be a haha funny capitalism parody
BUT it is interesting how a society in an almost-perpetually rainy environment, whose religion contains prominent water imagery, has funerary customs which emphasize dehydrating the body. Of course part of it has to do with the remains being easier to handle/sell, but there are other ways to achieve that. I feel like it has potential, there could be something about how the ferengi view the body and soul. E.g., maybe in some parts of ferenginar they believe/d that the soul is water, and that removing the water from the body helps the soul reach the divine treasury, and the practice caught on regardless of whether the original belief did
Layers of one of Quark's outfits, this one is called Cranberry Stripe I think!

disappointed by the lack of ferengi teeth appreciators in the notes of the quark pussygate poll. come on people we can do better than this
It's still so funny how Zek sent Quark on deadly missions THREE separate times in seasons 6-7. Zek had a whole military at his disposal. He had the ability to hire mercenaries. He could have sent an actual reporter to AR-558. But no he wanted that son in law dead so bad.
I made an emoji for the Ferengi wrists-together gesture! I based it off of the Mutant Standard emoji set. Feel free to download and use it for your own Discord server or when grovelling to the FCA.
