“White women get to be messy, complicated, and contradictory and whole, Black women only get to be bodies.” This is why race was brought into the conversation. Though Lana had points regarding her experience, which For Harriet fairly mentioned and explained, she simply didn’t have the range to talk about this. Though she had good intentions, her tone deafness was the issue. I’ve been harping on this for so long because I’ve been a fan of hers for a while and I just wish people,in general, would understand what was wrong here. Btw, love for Harriet and she broke this down and explained it perfectly.
