Nectarines are easy to find in supermarkets here pretty much all year round and they're not particularly expensive either, but there's so much satisfaction in growing my own and being able to pick some directly from my tree.
These still need another 2-3 weeks to grow some more and fully ripen, but I picked a few to lighten the load on the tree.
Second year nectarine tree.
Yes, I know I did a poor job thinning the fruit, but look how pretty they are.
sprayed the nectarine tree foliage with soapy water tonight: it had grown some new leaves, and then almost immediately those leaves were attacked by spider mites, leaving the new leaves (and now that i’m looking - lots of older leaves) speckled and weak. possibly the cause of all those yellow leaves i had seen earlier.
will wash off tomorrow morning and repeat tomorrow evening.
