Still healing from necrotizing fasciitis by never moving off of my bed, which currently is a couch. Maybe this week will be the week I’m healed in my last surgery location (4/5 healed, last one just about healed!) Now passing the time with a newly restored SmoshTastic YouTube membership, finding fun screengrabs. The best of today includes:
This one would make a good “hey, we swore, but we hided it!” tee…plus the cute ‘flower explosion’ on Ian’s part…
this completely doesn't go with the theme of my blog but check out the teeth pendant lol

I’ve been asked by a few medical professionals to share my experience with necrotizing fasciitis. Nothing gross or 🤮 worthy I promise. I’m going to compile it here, it’s just easier. It’ll be under a cut to protect those who would really rather not read anything, which I totally understand. I’ll make an edit after this sentence when it’s all finished. 😊
My leg swelled up in July 2024. In December of 2024 it started leaking to the point of sleeping with a towel wrapped around it every night, it would be pretty dampened in the morning. On July 7th of 2025, for no reason I can understand, I went on autopilot. I called 911, an ambulance was at my house in under five minutes. The attendants examined my leg, took my vitals, and loaded me up.
I remember most of the ambulance ride. I remember waiting in a hall on the ambulance gurney with the ambulance attendants who stayed with me until I was transferred to a bed in the emergency department, took an hour or two. I should have realized something was up because time started not making sense, not being linear…if that makes any sense. On my bed in the ER the air conditioning was really bothering my leg (AC plus a leaky leg was too cold for me at that time, and I adore the cold.) I remember covering my leg with a blanket. I waited about an hour. I went to the bathroom.
And that’s all I remember for two weeks. I have no memory of any Nurses, Doctors, any questions. I have only family recounting of my time in ICU, the two surgeries on my leg (the first one to open my leg up, it was left under a drape for 24 hours then debrided and closed). I do remember dreams I had while unconscious, and the medical team removed all anaesthetics
My walker is lit. 😁
