proposal for SnG? I can't imagine how this would work out though, looking forward to what you are going to do with that!
Oh geez lets see,
The recent troubles Rhys has run into lately should have been enough to teach him not to meddle with magic, shouldnât they? At least thatâs what Jack hopes for, mostly leaving the boy alone as he busies himself with whatever no-good deed heâs up to. Apparently this time itâs smelting, the apprentice running back and forth between the library and the labs with ever the heavier tomes on ancient magic tucked under his arm and with nuggets of gold littering the floor around him.
The effects of his hard work are presented a weak later, in form of a simple, gold band held in one sweaty palm.
âSo, what is it? If you were aiming for a cock-ring, thatâs not the right size sugar,â the comment has Rhys squinting his eyes, undoubtedly trying to imagine a flock of hens and cocks with tiny rings slipped on their feet. Heâs no fun at all.
âI uh, itâs a gift. For you.â Rhys clears his throat and straightens up, some confidence gained when heâs not interrupted, âfrom me.â
One hand darts forward to grasp Jackâs, the soft tug bringing his unresisting hand closer to the boy and he rubs his fingertips over the weathered knuckles, somewhat lost in thoughts for a few precious moments.
âYouâve given me so much, I, ahh... want you to have something of mine too...â Thatâs sweet, but also dumb and Jack covers the softer expression tugging at the corners of his eyes with a scowl.
âA Sorcerer does not...â
âA Sorcerer does not give anything for free I know, I know.â Â Rhys interjects in a flat tone.
âSo, whatâs the catch?â
âYou wonât know unless you try it,â the bright, doltish smile shot his way isnât enough to convince the Sorcerer, but curiosity is, so he only wiggles his fingers in a silent agreement. The metal is warm, sliding over his ring finger until itâs securely lodged just below the third knuckle.
Nothing happens, stillness hanging in the air between them for a few precarious moments until itâs Jackâs turn to clear his throat.
And do that again, and again as there seems to be something scratching deep down in his windpipe.
âThe hell did you do...â his words end up drowned out by another fit of violent hacking, the hand giving a few sympathetic pats to his back doing little to ease his discomfort. There is something, clawing its way through his respiratory system, burning and stinging badly. A few more coughs and on his open palm land stray leaves drenched in spit. On closer inspection it turns out to be nettle, all mangled and darkened along the creases, the tiny hairs covering them broken and oozing poison. He would have had his hands around the culpritâs neck in seconds had he not been trying to furiously claw at the ring which seems to have started sporting mean thorns that dig into Jackâs skin, refusing to budge an inch and only boring deeper into his flesh.
âMaster! Whatâs wrong?â
âYou... uhh, tell me...â Itâs hard to speak through the rising bile, a roiling sensation making his guts twist uncomfortably. Another wave is incoming, burning and this time scratching as if thorny vines were being dragged through his insides and crawling outwards. Turns out the metaphor wasnât far from the truth, and Jack chokes on the roses, their sharp leaves and thorns catching against the sensitive lining inside of his mouth. They come out dripping spit and blood, the coppery taste sticking to his abused tongue and Jack has no strength nor care currently, to give two shits about the dampness trickling down his chin.
âWait, wait! I think I uh... may have an idea? Just...relax...please?â As if it was that simple, and in his anger, the Sorcerer doubles over, spitting out a few stray leaves and petals, strings of drool lining the curve of his jaw and sticking to his lips.
âS-stupid....damn...argh...â sweat rolls down the side of Jackâs face, quickly joining the mess staining his chin, dry heaves shaking through his whole body. Itâs too tight, his chest not having enough space to accommodate for the constantly spreading push and shove and all Jack wants is to curl and stop aching, fury coiling between the stalks twisting about inside of him and trying to claw their way out. Itâs been such a long time since he last has been rendered this helpless, not even their little spat in the forest coming anywhere near what heâs feeling right now. At least back then, he was completely detached from his body, riding the high of a stolen victory.
Tiny hooks tear through his lungs, burrowing deeper until they reach his stomach, ripping the tissue and as he retches again, acid reflux mixed with thistles, makes Jack gag on his own blood and spit, the previous lacerations irritated all over again.
Rhys is desperately trying to stop Jackâs hands from ripping his clothes and scratching at the exposed chest, seeking the source of the burning, to stop it before heâs turned into a hollowed out husk. With face tucked into the crook of his apprenticeâs neck, Jack canât do much aside from trembling in rage and drooling, stripped of any finer control of his body.
âStop please, itâs only going to get worse if you keep getting angrierâŠâ
âWh-what?â His eyes are disgustingly wet, vision blurred and he almost absent-mindedly notices the mess he has made all over Rhysâ front, bodily fluids mixed with mangled flower and plants sticking to the boyâs shirt. One more wave, churning inside of him and overflowing until it spills over in a splash of saliva, regurgitated flowering quince and acids, leaving Jack a panting, shaking jumble of slumped down limbs.
This time he gives into the comfort of hands rubbing over his back, heavy breaths harsh on his destroyed throat and lungs, the damage undoubtedly lethal to anyone else.
âEasy, easy, Jack, please,â the voice is soothing the sting and the pain, lulling the Sorcerer into a somewhat less panicked state, âthe ring, itâs the ring, Iâm so sorry, I just wanted to design something to help you with uhh⊠your outburst you know? Iâm so sorryâŠâ
Only once heâs suitably calmed down, body slowly working on stitching itself back together, eyelids heavy and the arms around him so damn pliant and inviting making him succumb to a light, restless slumber. Only then does the ring, unnoticed, slips from his finger, hitting the ground with a soft clink.
Even the finest shears Jack used to use for dealing with the unruly mane of a manticore he had owned at one point donât seem to be able to do any damage to the birdâs nest sitting on top of his apprenticeâs head. It feels like whenever he cuts a portion of it, another handful of strands spurts from behind Rhysâ ear. What is worse, unless the boy has freshly dumped his head into a bucket of water, they instantly turn into a mess of curls sticking in every direction. Jack has to take a long, stranded breath through his nose, quietly considering his options. Perhaps he should set this moron on fire and burn every last tiny hair.
âWanna tell me whatâs happened this time, stupid thing?â
âSo uhh... the potion you were teaching me how to brew? Well, you uh... see, I might have completely accidentally droped a couple more frog kidneys than your recipe called for. And then... mmm someone has knocked over that vial with basiliskâs bile into tha cauldron and... you know it actually smelled nice? Like freshly baked lemon pie? So I uhh.. you see, dipped my pinky in it...just the tip of it! And ... you know, it didnât taste like lemon pie but then the whole hair situation happened...â Despite not being able to see anything from underneath the ruffled mop of hair, Rhys does his best to shoot a dopey smile towards the Sorcerer.
âThat...was exceptionally stupid, even for you.â No amount of exasperate sighs will make the âhair situationâ disappear and so Jack makes another pass at the longer strands twisting into loose coils at the nape of Rhysâ neck.
âI know!â An even brighter smile tugs at the boyâs lips, âyou should totally see how bad it is between my legs!â Thatâs nothing to be proud of in Jackâs opinion but who he is to argue with this dumbnut. âBut uh... master, Iâd rather you kept the shears away from there... please?â The hands so far resting on top of the table slide to protectively lay over Rhysâ lap.
âI donât know, how else am I going to deal with this mess?â A couple menacing snips of the shears close to the boyâs ear are enough to spurr some distressed yelps.
âNo, no, no, itâs uhh... itâs fine...â A few moments of silence pass, Jack trying this time for an enchanted dagger that is supposed to lift most curses. âJack?â
âWhat is it, sugar?â
âCould you perhaps, later, find some time and brush my hair? It feels... good,â and how could the Sorcerer decline such a lovely request, spoken in that hushed, compliant tone he likes so much?
I can't fucking believe I wrote this thing, anyway, lets see how well Sorcerer Rhys will fare against Sorcerer Jack, shall we?
whatever you think this might be based on the summary, it isnât.
also, did i tell you that i have no self-restrain? yeah, i think i did. well.
Good job Rhys fucking things up again ;^)

Who stops to greet all the animals they pass, and who walks faster so the animals donât âgetâ them okay lets go with sng since it hasnt been getting enough love lately. So, if youâre not familiar, and you probably arenât, with the legend of the fern flower, hereâs some brief wiki article about it.
âJack? Are w lost?â Rhys is carefully treading through a muddy swamp, trousers rolled up as high as possible and boots held in one hand.
â âfcourse not, a Sorcerer is never lost, a Sorcerer is always exactly where he needs to be,â which, translated from Handsome to human means that they are royally lost, wading through the marshes on some stupid goose chase, looking for some stupid, stupid ingredients, a stupid stupid STUPID strain of fern that is said to bloom only on this particular night of the year on summer solstice.
âSo, can a Sorcerer fancy asking himself where he exactly is and when he will need to be home? âm hungryâŠâ a loud, guttural growl coming from his aching belly only helps in stressing his point.
âStupid thing, want me to leave you here until you find that goddamned plant?â
ââŠno?â with a morose sigh, Rhys shoots a sweeping glance around his surroundings, completely ignoring his master mumbling something rather offensive to himself.Â
âWe wouldnât be stuck here so late at night if you didnât feel the need to stop to pet every dumb animal we ran into on our way here!â
âYou know the bears wonât eat you, right? They are friendly if you feed them some berriesâŠâ
âYou and Timtam, both exactly the same, what on fucking earth is the appeal of all those nasty, fuzzy critters you two like so much?!â
âNot everyone is a dirty scale fucker like you master!â throwing his hands in the air, Rhys will later blame running his mouth like that on persistent hunger, now however he couldnât give a damn, soaking wet, tired and done with the Sorcererâs shit.
âWhat did you sayâŠ?â
âWoah! Lookit! Is thatâŠ?â Ignoring the other man once again, Rhys quickly follows a sliver of warm light spilling from between a thicker wall of old trees, tiny sparkles lazily floating towards the source of it.
âOh yeah, thatâs exactly it!â He gets a proud pat to his shoulder and an affectionate ruffle to his hair, Jack totally disregarding him making a fuss of bringing back some order to the flyaways, âweâve found it sugar!â
The soft gleam surrounding the mystical flower draws a flock of moths, their wings getting singed with a fizzle whenever they got too close. Armed in a pair of tongs, the Sorcerer grunts, trying to pull the plant whole from the ground, its roots fighting a losing battle, clearly unhappy about being mistreated like that.
âSo uh⊠what are its properties? What do we need it for?â
âThis, my young apprentice, brings wealth and luck to whoever finds it. A strong aprhodisiac on top of that, can increase or even induce fertilityâŠâ
The toothy grin Rhys receives makes him reflexively gulp, whatever his master intends to use the flower for⊠canât and probably wonât end well for the apprentice.
