Looking for the light now that Daylight Savings Time has kicked in? Mary Temple’s mosaic artwork at the Neck Road station (Q) subtly maintains the morning light and shadows flooding the subway tile. Temple’s work will shift your perception with shards of light and silhouetted foliage illuminating the wall at all hours of the day and night. On closer inspection you discover that the tiles are hand-painted in ceramic glazes. As the artist reminds us, Henry David Thoreau said: "Vigorous thought keeps pace with the sun, the day is a perpetual morning".
