Ever since creating Minnie and writing her to be this secretly evil character that doesnāt want to be evil, but has to play the part in order for the world to stay in balance. And thus I shall show you my favorite Tv Trope I like writing for. Now I KNOW I love the wholesome, do no evil, characters that just radiate sweetness and would never take a life. But then thereās the characters that are evil for a reason and they want to do right by the world by acting as an outside police force. One that will take a life for a price because, letās face it, weāre all gonna die anyway and itās best that some lives are cut short rather than prolong their existence. But with Minnie, I did my own twist that she is a character that wouldnāt normally do evil, but since her job is of a bounty hunter and thereās literally people more evil than what she does, then thatās a small price to pay for a life full of misery and being on wanted posters and being a scary story that parents tell kids to get them to behave. Thatās her role in life and she accepts it, but not without groaning and rolling her eyes. So I introduce to you, The Necessarily Evil character
This characterās motivations are āends justify the meansā and āI do what I have to do in order to keep evil from spreadingā. This trope can be fun to write since youāre not writing a villain, but a character that takes a villain role and uses it to make the world a better place. āSometimes you have to be the bad guyā is also a part of this characters main motivation because some actions need to be taken and not a lot of people willing to do it. This in interesting to me since Iām not writing a character thatās morally black or white, but a morally gray character that brings the reality of life and how not a lot of people acknowledge that the justice system is broken and itās better to play villain than to rely on a group of corruptible meatheads with weapons.
