It had been years since world had gone to shit. Katherine had done okay on her own for the first few weeks. Her skills as an outdoor guide had leant to her ability to make it through that hellish time of not understanding what was happening and running through the nightmare that the landscape had become. She couldn’t do it all on her own though. Being one person just wasn’t feasible. Group after group had been a miserable failure in the human experiment. That was until Negan had come alone. He was charismatic and seemed that he genuinely wanted to try and make things seem right again. Katherine knew that the world was a dog eat dog place now. They had to take care of their own, not that she always agreed with the methods that they went about ensuring their survival.

She was a top Savior, someone that was close to the man in charge. It was a position she had though she coveted until the mess with Rick came along. There were too many bodies already and anything that continued would only lead to more. Negan wasn’t going to back down and he had only become harsher as the entanglement the communities found themselves in went on.

Rick let out an exasperated breath, hardly in the mood to be taking shit from anyone. “Yeah?” he snaps back. “Well, killing a bunch of innocent people might not bother you but I’m not gonna sink to our enemy’s level.” Fact of the matter was, not all the Saviors were bad. Many of them were just women and children that didn’t want a part in any of this. Many of them didn’t agree with Negan’s way but were too afraid to step out of line and risk infuriating a man who bashes heads for sport and burns people alive.

image “We’re on the same side, Daryl. I want to see him dead as much as you do. But I ain’t letting you do this, not this way.” Rick plants his feet firmly into the ground, unwilling to let the archer retrieve the explosives. “It ain’t who we are.”

“Innocent people?” Daryl snaps. “Those innocent people are complicate in a hell of a lot of torture an’ abuse. You ain’ seen them like I’ve seen them.” He’s not ready to let Rick’s ‘holier then thou’ attitude prevent them from taking out their target. So a few other people go with him, the end result is the same, it’s over, they’re safe. 

“Listen, I’m alright,” The brunette teen reassured the ex-cop. It was just a close call that’s all. Besides they made it back with supplies. Sure, she understood why he was so worried but, really?
