Live album released in 2001 from a singe I first met singing background for Erykah Badu. She was the sister with the Auburn fro with a voice that was felt like a piece of cornbread underneath a quilt G-Ma made.
My jam on this joint ... well there are 2 ... but my joint-JOINT is the live version on the song DEEP. Look here. This song is on her debut album, Little Lost Girl Blues and its clean and produced with the magical filters one can put on vocals and instruments. This line version is swampy and full of a thump. This live version also gives the song the array of raw emotions that the lyrics suggests. From lost to desire, my naughty pleasure in this song is when she start riffing off the lyrics IN MY GUT / FEEL IT IN MY GUT! GUT / SAY ITS IN MY GUT .... Her riffing along with the call and response of the backing vocals fosters a carnal praise that makes this my JOINT-joint

I have had the pleasure of seeing this amazingly gifted singer and enchantress live on 3 occasions, but it was during her tour of LITTLE LOST GIRL BLUES where me and a room of Chicagoan neo-soulers were captured underneath her revival tent inside the Issac Hayes concert hall. Her ODE TO NINA and this song opened the doors of her church where I became a member by letter.
This song would go on mixtape that the fictional character BRYER DAVIS would send to his blog distance lover DEZ CLOUTIER to which his lover would then say YOU SO NASTY. And they both would enjoy each other in the excursion taking by both of them.
