"So far, my understanding of being an educator is that it allows me the chance to keep learning forever." - Joe Loviska, C15 Graduate Student @joecanny Students from Meridian Middle School collect and study snow samples in the shadow of Mt. Shuksan. The samples will be sent to Western Wahington Universities' biology lab for DNA analysis in an ongoing research project studying snow algae. This field station is a part of a larger program, Snow School, which explores the upper reaches of the Nooksack watershed through a packed day of field science. *Snow School is made possible through a collaboration of the North Cascades Institute, Western Washington University, Northwest Avalanche Center and Mt. Baker Ski area.
