What always makes me excited about this routine is not that she went viral or doing hard tumbling in college. It’s because you can feel the joy beaming from her soul.

I used to compete with Katelyn when she was a little one at Gymnastics East and I was at Metropolitan and everyone in the community knew she was going places. But, gymnastics is one of the hardest sports that kids go through and all the hard times are behind closed doors. Outside of the gymnastics community, no one is aware of the stress and pain. So I wasn’t surprised, but it still broke my heart to learn she lost her happiness and spirit to reach those goals.
