My Weekly bouquet! Iāve begun to buy myself flowers every week because they make me happy. Last night I was replacing the bouquet from before I left New York, it was moulding and the water off the stems was thick and gloopy, it was disgusting.
I put the new flowers in and I felt like I had betrayed the old ones, I loved them so much, i put them in the sun, watered them, i took pictures, but they were always going to die ugly and useless.
Itās just so sad, in that moment i realized how similar we were and I literally said out loud āI donāt want to grow old and dieā no matter how beautiful or successful and fruitful my life is I am destined to wilt, age and end up a rotting corpse in the ground, itās very humbling.
This is so depressing I apologise scroll on xxxxx
"You cannot begin to preserve any species of animal unless you preserve the habitat in which it dwells. Disturb or destroy that habitat and you will exterminate the species as surely as if you had shot it. So conservation means that you have to preserve forest and grassland, river and lake, even the sea itself. This is not only vital for the preservation of animal life generally, but for the future existence of man himself -- a point that seems to escape many people."
~ Gerald Durrell, naturalist and author (7 Jan 1925-1995), a favourite author when I was a kid....
