The initial results of an experiment: What if I just skinned out a rabbit head and buried it outside the fence? Will that turn out a decent cleaned skull, and how long will it take?

The answer is yes, that'll work, but 7ish months was too long, at least for the specific factors involved here (size/fleshiness of piece, soil life, time of year, etc). It's more degraded overall than I'd like, and the small roots that were growing through all over did some significant damage. These pictures are after soaking and washing with dish soap & water. I'll give it a peroxide soak next, but I don't expect this one to be a keeper. Luckily I've got a more or less endless supply of rabbit heads 😉, so I can try again.
