M: What’s the weirdest AU scenario you’ve ever come up with? Did it turn into a story?

I've never written an AU in my life.
Okay, no, I have. Obviously. I don't remember a lot of the ones I thought of that I never wrote or finished, but I turned Generation Kill into a romcom, and did a fine fucking job if I say so myself.
Accidentally in Love - Nate/Brad, Ray/Walt, Pappy/Rudy -
Brad Colbert's been out of the military and down half a leg for just over a year. He's got an okay job, a profane best friend (who looks like a child molester when he reads those damn YA books on the bus), and a serious concern that no one's ever gonna be into a one-and-a-half legged man like him.
And then he meets Nate Fick, and Brad finds out that finding someone to love means having to love yourself.
