“  oh  my  god  ,  i’m  genius  !  ”  zoya  suddenly  screams  ,  suddenly  sitting  on  the  bed  straight  ,  elbow  nudging  natasha  .  she  enjoyed  how  there  were  times  where  they  could  sit  in  dead  silence  ,  scrolling  through  their  phones  and  catching  up  on  newest  articles  and  it  was  perfectly  fine  and  comfortable  .  despite  being  completely  different  ,  two  opposites  and  it  only  takes  a  glance  at  the  two  of  them  to  count  the  differences  .  but  for  whatever  reason  ,  it  works  .  “  get  up  ,  look  cute  and  don’t  ever  call  me  a  bad  friend  ,  i’m  going  to   ...  uncancel  you  .  ”  her  voice  full  of  pure  excitement  ,  lips  formed  into  a  genuine  smile  .  

“  so  ,  ”  she  starts  with  chin  resting  on  her  palm  as  she  turns  over  on  natasha’s  bed  .  “  i  saw  you  for  like  ,  five  minutes  on  the  gala  and  then  you  were  missing  for  almost  the  entire  evening  .  anything  you  wanna  share  with  the  one  and  only  ,  best  friend  you’d  ever  have  ?  ”  she  just  heard  a  thing  or  two  about  the  eventful  night  of  the  other  ,  yet  it’s  the  first  time  they’re  able  to  catch  up  after  holidays  and  the  curiosity  takes  over  zoya  .

“  have  you  heard  anything  about  an  after  party  ?  ”  this  is  the  first  time  zoya  is  finally  able  to  be  around  someone  she  actually  likes  to  hang  out  with  .  as  she  sips  on  her  another  round  of  martini  ,  her  body  relaxes  as  there’s  no  pretending  around  natasha  ,  no  fake  laughs  or  attempts  to  run  away  from  a  conversation  .  “  because  if  i  come  back  home  with  santa  claus  is  coming  to  town  as  the  last  song  i  heard  this  evening  ,  i  might  finish  it  all  .  ”
