I think dear reader is a perfect song for her (especially the bridge!!).
But I also associate my love by florence + the machine with her for some reason. (Her life was so full of loneliness and the chorus imo just really seems to fit her situation. Like...right in the middle of the novel). Tough act by maisie peters also reminds me of her and Graham.
What songs do you associate with her?
I am enjoying shirley right now but it was a bit boring before caroline came (I was like WHERE ARE THE GIRLS??? Lol). I already love her. But Robert annoys me (except when he is being nice to caroline. He is really good at that but now I think he regrets it??)
Also helstone, malone, sweeting and donne are so ridiculous AND irritating (helstone's thoughts on women....poor caroline she has to deal with him all day).
The book is so funny at times too. I hope shirley comes soon and becomes friends with caroline (she needs that).
