Life as a simple merchant in a city as large as Yaafena, the capitol of Syleric, was never easy for you, but it becomes much harder when you find an ancient artifact that once belonged to your grandfather, an artifact which defines you as the sole survivor of not only your bloodline, but your entire race. Accompanied by a mercenary hired for your protection, a wandering dancer, your estranged childhood friend of regal descent, and a tavern owner with suspicious ancestry, you embark on a dangerous journey through your nation to find the true abilities your ancestors provided you with.

The Mercenary: Nasiphe (F)

A young woman graced with significant talent in battle, well-known throughout Syleric as a ruthless and loyal member of The Forsaken Brotherhood, and the only woman among their ranks. Rumor has it that any humanity she previously possessed was beaten out of her early in her childhood, and she has since become a stone-hearted warrior who swiftly ends anyone who gets in her way. Don't get too close to her, many terrified citizens warn, for she is a vessel of destruction and malice.

The Musician: Faelyn (Gender Selectable)

Once a petty theif, they were born in the nearby city of Monadh, but fled their land of birth in their youth to avoid being prosecuted for their crimes. Playful and bubbly, you'll rarely see Faelyn without a smile on their face. They have recently become quite a popular musician in Yaafena due to their incredible gift in both lyricism and playing many instruments. They travel often and have been to many other nations to perform, but, in their opinion, none can measure up to the great land they are so proud to call home.

The Laird: Elsare (Gender Selectable)

Your childhood best friend and the heir to the throne of Syleric, a kind and gentle soul known for their wisdom and compassion, Elsare has always been the perfect child, and will soon become the perfect ruler. You haven't spoken in over a decade, but, from what you can see, they are still the same curious and hardworking person as they were when the two of you were just children. They can often be seen in the palace library, perusing through the various books they have most likely read many times over.

The Proprietor: Levias (M)

The owner of a small underground tavern named The Sleeping Nomad, he was reportedly born to a noble family, but rejected their lifestyle to make a name for himself. Levias is notoriously handsome and flirtatious, and has women and men alike falling prey to his sweet talk and tempting offers nearly everywhere he goes. Some speculate about his ancestry, as he tends to be incredibly secretive about his lineage. Many note his humanoid appearance, but he has many strange features that make some question what he really is.

nasiphe - quality time and acts of service

she's been conditioned out of talking about her feelings/showing them at all, so things like words of affirmation and physical touch are hard for her. she usually shows her love for someone by doing things for them without being asked, or trying to be around them more than she does other people.

faelyn - physical touch

faelyn is generally a pretty touchy person in any relationship, and is even moreso when it's romantic. they generally like to cuddle people a lot, and sitting around with someone they love is one of their favorite things. their most obvious sign of falling in love is that they touch someone more, even if its just a brush of the arm.

elsare - giving gifts and acts of service

elsare likes to spoil their loved ones, especially those who previously weren't able to buy things for themselves. they consider gifts to be a physical representation of their love for you, so the bigger the better. they also enjoy taking care of those they love, especially when they're sick, they love feeling wanted and needed.

levias - words of affirmatioon

i usually start a character/project with no intent to do so before i see or do something that gives me inspiration for it

for example, incendiary was started because i liked the concept, but mostly because i crafted celaine around my own best friend (besides the being in love thing)

obviously they have many differences, but their general manner of speaking and demeanor are pretty much the same

just about everything i've ever written was created because i wanted a character with a specific characteristic

for tsoe, i started it entirely off nasiphe (which is why she probably seems the best developed rn but trust me theres a lot of stuff about the others that you dont know lmao)

i made her because i liked the idea of a woman with brown skin and white hair, i saw it on instagram or something and was like 'shes hot let me make a character like that'

then, while trying to think of a personality for her, i was listening to first burn by julia harriman, and the general vibe it gave me (not really the lyrics) made me think of someone mean

not like antonio's mean, but like a genuinely morally questionable character who has and won't hesitate to kill people if the situation calls for it

a lot of characters i use music to inspire the personalities for, and often design their looks on that

like for nadia, where for a character that's cheerful and bubbly, i gave her bouncing curls and a style that's reminiscent of a high school girl

i gave elsare a mostly blue color palate because blue reminds me of serenity and grace, and i thought it fit someone like them

nasiphe : enemies to friends to lovers / slow burn (and i mean SLOW BURN if you pick her route be prepared to spend half the game getting her to even look at you)

faelyn : friends to lovers / bubbly and energized x exhausted as hell

elsare : childhood friends to lovers / mutual pining

nasiphe would...not. she is much too lacking in any and all social skills to actually try to woo someone, so she just acts the same as she would with anybody else. hostile, that is.

faelyn would write songs for them and make them gifts, they think those sorts of things are more meaningful when made by the person giving them.

elsare would talk about anything and everything with them, and could spend hours just rambling on about their books because just being with them makes them happy.

nasiphe has warm brown skin and short pure white hair with choppy ends due to her periodically cutting it off with a knife when it gets too long. she has slightly upturned amber eyes and a round face and wears dark colors like green, black, and brown most often. she is left handed, has a dagger strapped to her left thigh at all times, but uses a bow and arrow as her weapon of choice. nasiphe is 358 years old, and will live to be well over 2000, but physically appears around 23, and her race is a secret hehe

faelyn is slightly tanned and has various beauty marks dotting their skin, and has long red hair no matter the gender, though it is longer if they are female than if they are male/gender-nonconorming. they have round blue eyes and a heart-shaped face and mostly wear warm colors like yellow and orange, and sometimes blue. they are right handed, and have a belt with multiple trinkets strapped to it, including a small adjustable loop to hold their flute. faelyn is 24 years old, and is a human.

elsare has light blue skin and navy blue hair that is cut close to their scalp if they are female or gender-nonconforming and shoulder-length if they are male. they have round light grey eyes and an angular face, and they wear mostly very dark blue clothing made of expensive silks. they are ambidextrous and almost always sport two white lines painted diagonally underneath their eyes, something everyone in their family also has. elsare is 142 years old, and will live to be about 500, but physically appears around 23, and is a high elf.

levias has olive skin and dark brown wavy hair that he keeps short, and has heavy stubble littering his face. he has hooded dark brown eyes and a square face, with somewhat plump lips that seem perpetually upturned, and he mostly wears light neutral colors like white and beige. he is right handed and sports many rings on all of his fingers, including that which a wedding band would go on. (hes not married though dw) levias' true age is unknown and will continue to be for a while, but he appears 26, and his race is also unknown
